I cracked a case of 2013 Chrome last Friday and I think I pulled a new style of redemption. I guess Topps got tired of hearing complaints about too many plain blue and black ink redemption cards in their products. Their solution... eliminate redemptions? No, but here is the new idea that they think will take the hobby by storm:

Insert unsigned autographs into the product and make the customers send it in for the player to sign or to stick a sticker auto on it...

Oh, wait. My wife just told me that she thinks Topps allowed an unsigned autograph card to go through because she saw three other gold autos sell on eBay with signatures included.

Hmm, and I thought Topps had a genius idea.

But, even though gold autos are numbered to 50, does the non auto make this an eBay 1/1? (Sorry, I couldn't resist).

By the way, this was the "case hit".

I heard about that program... It's where they send you a blank card, and it's your job to find the player to get the autograph!

Personally I think it would be hilarious if you got another player to sign the card... :)

What a great idea !!! Now, who should sign for Dylan Bundy? How about Bruce Rondon or Nick Maronde? They are found in all Topps releases with like 5,000 autos in each. Oh , I know, Vida Blue!

Yes, it's a new program.

Topps now sends you a blank card, you have to get the player to sign and then you have to send $50 in damages to Topps for infringing on their exclusive autograph rights.

In a group break I hit a David Freese die cut "auto" with no auto. Personally I am going to contact Topps.

Much like the Taveras Chrome autos that were seeded unsigned. The card may catch a premium upon his return..

Yeah I bet you this thing could fetch some decent coin...it's clear it's not one of those bogus "test run" cards without an auto because it's numbered. Really is a one of a kind error.

I just wanted it so he could personalize something cool on there. I suppose he could personalize the regular, but he could take full advantage of the space.
