I sold a 2013 BOWMAN CHROME JURICKSON PROFAR BASE AUTO ROOKIE REDEMPTION - Item #121132978668 for $34 plus shipping and was paid on July 1st. This morning I wake up to see this email from paypal:

(We were recently notified that one of your buyers filed a chargeback and
asked the credit card issuer to reverse a payment made to you on Jul 1,
2013.

The buyer claims that this purchase was made without authorization to use
the credit card. Their credit card issuer needs additional information from
you about this transaction.)

A lot has happened to me since I sold this card. I have since moved to the Netherlands and have no proof of shipment. Am I going to get shafted on this? Will I receive the card back after it has already been redeemed? Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks!

Its very possible. The lack of tracking might really put the shaft on you for this. But I think they must return the card to you for the refund to be fully completed (unless they're claiming they never got it).

I'd be complaining why when this was paid for on July 1 (hopefully they left you feedback - as that could be grounds for an immediate dismissal of the claim) that now Oct. 8 they're now filing an issue.

Thanks fish. The buyer did indeed leave me positive feedback on July 7th - smooth transaction, thank you.

Be careful. eBay doesn't care about positive feedback to count as proof of transition. Ironically, eBay use feedback to suspend and kill benefits to sellers.

I recommend check the buyer closely. I saw some re-sellers and International drop shippers in the past few years in eBay.

Do you still have the tracking number? If it was printed via Paypal or Ebay it will show on the actual transaction. All you have to prove is that the item was shipped. However that is difficult to prove without the tracking number.

If he printed and payed by PayPal. It must be in the transaction history. Contrary to eBay in PayPal you can go even years back to check.

Also the USPS after some months. They deactivate the DC and other numbers, but online they give you the option to activate or recover the info.

It's not an eBay or Paypal chargeback. It's a credit card chargeback. The buyer funded the Paypal payment with money from a credit card. Now they're using the credit card company to get the money back.

In my experience, eBay won't do anything whatsoever about this. They'll abide by the credit card company's rules (which are often different than eBay / Paypal rules). If the credit card company requires you to have proof of delivery / proof of shipment, then eBay / Paypal will go along with it.

This is why some people recommend that buyers should always fund their Paypal transactions with a credit card rather than pay out of their Paypal balance. They often get an extra level of protection, sometimes at the expense of the seller.

Just click on the item, look in the order details and copy and paste the tracking number onto the paypal claim where it asks for it, and you should be fine.

:)!

Did you have the racking number? If so you need to call Paypal and get that reversed. In cases of unauthorized use all you have to do is prove the item was shipped. I have had no less than a dozen of these in the past 5 years and have never lost one. Most recent was in September. I had tracking showing item was delivered in August and Paypal closed the case in my favor. (That don't mean they did not end up paying)
