PSA actually does not grade trimmed cards like BGS does -
PSA 10's are tougher because they notice more flaws - BGS has been getting soft on all 9.5's over time
yea but thats a hug difference

I just picked up 3 Tiffany factory sets from 1987, still factory sealed. I'm thinking maybe I should break them and submit the Bonds and Bo cards.

You can probably look up more info by doing a search here and checking resale values on Ebay, but a PSA 10 usually outsells a BGS 9.5.
However, the variance isn't usually as much as you've mentioned

I have a BGS 9. Anyone with an opinion on the centering mine got from BGS of only an 8.5? I think it's a pretty sharp example of this card and happy to have it at a fraction of the price of a 9.5 or 10. 9.5 corners and 9.5 surface.

Why not crack and resub w/ PSA? I don't know why people think a Becket 9.5 is a heck of a lot easier than a PSA 10. If you ask me the reward is worth the risk.

I think all grading companies grade trimmed cards, unintentionally.
i don't think any of them intentionally grade trimmed cards, but BGS has said they will grade sheet-cut cards. is that what you refer to?
and lest anyone think PSA is above all of this, just go read an article about the grading of the T-206 Wagner that McNall and Gretzky bought. that card is widely believed to have been trimmed and it's the most famous card PSA has ever graded.

Are you sure you are talking about 87s? I haven't seen any go that high with any grading company.

For whatever God forsaken reason TTM has been bumping dirt old threads in various sections. I mean, this thread is as old as my BO existence and that's like deathbed old compared to human years.

Bumping old threads is known to be a cheap thrill. But soon the high wears off and you will need more and more to get the same fix. The kid is playing with fire and I think you will agree that we may need to intervene soon before this gets out of hand.. :eatit:

Widely believed? It is trimmed. Mastro admitted to trimming the card. It was also sheet cut before that. However, PSA has removed that card from their registry.

Bumping old threads is a gateway drug to 2015 Prospect Rush.

People prefer PSA for 80's and 90's cards. BGS sells better for newer chrome cards and autos.
