So I got this in the other day as part of a care package. It was given to the previous owner a long time ago. It does have a COA with it but I won't give out which company just yet. All I ask is from some of out resident members that know more about this stuff to look at it and let me know their thoughts on if it's legit or not.....

Thanks ahead of time for any and all info. I know his and mantles auto have a ton of fakes out there

With all of the BS going on, I don't trust anything. You'll get people saying it's good while others will point out the Bullpen FBI deal. Unless it's something from someone that had a certifiable signing or one of the Upper Deck Heroes cards, I wouldn't even bother with signed photos any more. Anything without a legit COA or some proof of the signing isn't worth the trouble and doubt.

That autograph looks very strange to me. The l's in Williams are usually more looped, and the m is way off. The autograph is also slanted much more to the right than I'm used to seeing. Plus, the location of the autograph seems strange, he usually signed closer to the center of the photo, and a lot of times at a bit of an angle, not straight across.

Two different line angles is a weird way to sign for anyone, let alone Williams.

'Ted W' goes on one plane, then 'illiams' on another certainly looks odd.

Anything is possible, but whoever signed it clearly stopped, and moved their wrist before continuing.

If I were a betting man I would say at BEST it's a John Henry Williams sig.
He could sign Ted's name pretty well.

Then again if you had Ted sign it in 1 room and went into the next toom to ask JHW if it was real he would say no unless it had HIS COA.

What a raging douche he was

Not authentic, there's many fake items on eBay with that exact same signature.

Exactly what I was thinking. It doesn't look like Teds.

Here is one authenticated by PSA/DNA (I know I know) but at least it is something to compare to.

I would say that it is probably fake. Something doesn't look right with the auto as I have seen his authentic auto before and it doesn't look the same.

I say fake.

In the OP scan, notice how the "W" is totally separated from the rest of the last name. I don't think I've seen a Ted Williams signed item with good provenance, that looks like that.

IMHO Not even a good fake. It does not have the same slant as his signature, several letters are formed differently and in general looks totally different.

Jetson is dead on. Plus it looks like he climbed out of his grave and signed it yesterday. Should be used to light a fire.

Nail polish remover may work. So who was the coa from?
