Question for people who sell on COMC

I am just getting ready to send in my first shipment so I'm looking for any advice and I have a few questions.

I know they charge to remove cards from top loaders, then they say there is no charge for penny sleeve removal. So the question is do they just throw the sleeves away? And wouldn't it just be a waste of money to send cards in sleeves?

Which shipment option do you normally use? I selected the month option due to the cards I'm sending in are lower dollar inserts.

What is your experience using COMC? Do your cards sell farly well or is it hit and miss.

How do you promote your cards for sell so people look at your port and buy things?

Do you set sell price or is it tied to price guide values?

I actually don't think this is correct. I'm pretty sure that they scan them with the sleeves. I have never sent a single card that wasn't sleeved nor have I ever received one from them that wasn't. No need for top loaders, just sleeve them and pack them into an appropriate size card box. I wait until I can fill (6) 550 ct boxes which then fit snugly inside of a USPS large flat rate box )(Paypal shipping is $14.30) or (4) which fit into a medium flat rate box (Paypal shipping $11 ish). That way you minimize the shipping you are paying and in turn maximize your profits. I don't get people sending in 1-200 cards at a time unless they are high end. By the time you pay non flat rate shipping, submission fees, price low enough to sell and factor in a cash out fee there isn't much if anything left.

If you pay through Paypal it has 'free' delivery confirmation. The answer to your question though is no. I have sent over $84k in BV to them in the manner that I stated so far without a problem. Not the smartest idea but I've been lucky. The bigger, flat rate boxes don't get lost near as often as bubble mailers. I have stressed a few times but like clockwork with the flat rates 2 days after I drop it off it shows up at COMC. Yet to have any damaged either.

Cards are scanned in the sleeves.

I typically ship with fedex or usps and do insure the shipment.

Cards are hit or miss on what sells, just the same you dont know what will sell and/or when which makes it a ton of fun IMHO.

I'd say 90% of what I send in is in a penny sleeve, but I am blowing through all my sleeves so I have started sending some of my lower inserts/rookies that I'm only looking to sell for a dollar or 2 in without them. As long as everything is packed in tightly they shouldn't get messed up. I also send them in card boxes and than put those boxes into a flat rate.

I send mine in with the penny sleeve, and as was mentioned before, I believe the scan the card in the sleeve and all. If you look at the scans on the site, it appears that most cards are scanned still in the sleeve. I have actually done pretty well with sales, as I try to be the lowest price on the site for what's in my port. I use the board to try and let people know of any updates to my inventory. The other thing I think that's important is to try and be vigilant about your inventory. There are a lot of people who will have the same cards as you and will try to undercut your prices. Sometimes you can go lower, and sometimes you can't, but it gives me a better idea of why something is or isn't selling by keeping track as often as I can.
