I've made a few trades with card stores over the years, including today, and it got me wondering what kind of stuff people had traded for over the years with their store owners. So reply below if you have any deals you're especially proud of!

The best I probably ever did, if you count online, was a deal with a Beckett Marketplace guy where I got like 5-6 nice Fred Mcgriff pieces for a few meh jersey cards that "booked" well.

Today I didn't do as nice but I was happy and thought I'd show my stuff off before you guys get to answering! I traded Vontaze Burfict and Marvin Jones base autos, a Vernon Davis Orange Refractor, and a few local base/insert cards for the following six cards (marks are on the scanner, my wife has made our scanner so messy so quickly):

#'d 1/25, 4 picks for the Colts right now

#'d 4/32, don't think I need to tell you how he's doing but I always wanted a lower print run Freeman and now I have one

#'d 4/6, yes there's bottom edge damage on the front and though it looks less bad in person it still makes me sad :( But I love low numbered stuff so I had to throw it in

#'d 5/25, probably my favorite get of the trip. I have an affinity for former Browns backups and since my ability to grab low print run Thad Lewis cards has probably passed I'm happy to be able to grab a Brown!

Last but not least, Mr. Woodhead! Scans so dark but looks real nice in person...actually almost grabbed this in a deal 3 years ago and it was still there so I said HECK YES

Pulled a 2007 Brady Quinn Topps Draft auto that was booking for $150 at the time. Traded it to the shop for a box of 2007 Bowman Chrome. Pulled a Lincecum gold refractor auto.

Sold the Lincecum for $1200. The Quinn is now worth about $12.00

Mine is a little different as its the best LCS trade that didnt happen.

In 2005 I bought a box of 04/05 Sp Authentic Hockey and pulled the redemption for the Sidney Crosby rc. The store employee was ecstatic so I told him I would trade it for 2 boxes of MVP,2 SPX, and 1 BAP all adding up to $400. He called his owner and the owner said no because he "didnt want to sell out of his hockey"... I went home and threw it on ebay for $575 Bin and it sold in 15 minutes.

That's how I felt a few years ago...the closest thing to a card shop in Bloomington, IN is a coin shop that straight up blows. Cincy is way nicer...4 card stores total though I only really go to the one because 1.5 of the others are all about local teams and the other good one is mostly vintage.

In 1989 I went into my first hobby shop in Chicago.... which is now a Mexican restaurant.... I bought a pack of Pro Set football cards. I asked the owner which cards were good. He said he liked the Joe Montana card I had. I traded it to him for another pack of Pro Set and have been hooked ever since.

Truth. But at the time I didn't really want to drive two hours round trip for cards haha.
