Opinions on this as it seems viable as Minnesota could clean house at QB next year and draft a future QB as well. They could sign Vick to a 1 or 2 year deal

I have no idea why they would do this? If they draft in the top 5 and get a franchise QB, why have Vick there? I really don't see him as a guy who is going to be satisfied being a back-up who is expected to mentor the new guy.

Just finding landing spots for Vick next year. He will find a new home if players like Jeff Tuel and Weeden have jobs

Sure, send Vick on over to Minnesota. I would love for Shields and Hayward to get a few Pick 6's.

I don't think Vick would be a good fit with AP as Vick is anything but a traditional turn around and hand it off type QB and AP isn't the spread it out and play a speed game RB

You could argue he should be starting SOMEWHERE over some of the other options I guess.

Its AD bro. AP is an English class offered at high schools. The read option with Vick & Peterson would be fun to watch

I think he is a good player. Holds the ball too long sometimes and needs to improve in the red zone but he is still my favorite player to watch in the NFL.

Why?
He's old. He's always hurt. He's not accurate.
I guess he's fun to watch sometimes.
There are very few teams at this point where I'd rather have him then what they've got - and those teams that "might" be able to use him shouldn't want him anyway as they clearly need to draft someone - not sign a 33 year old.
As a Browns fan I'd much rather have Jason Campbell going forward then I would Mike Vick.
That's saying something.

That is why your a Browns fan if you would prefer Jason Campbell over Vick

I know - it's not the fact that Campbell is better then Vick. That doesn't factor in at all.

I mean Weeden is a lost cause, Hoyer should be the browns 2014 QB and draft a franchise QB like teddy

Which has nothing to do with the fact Vick isn't good.
Vick had 6 games to prove his worth - he throws at a 54% rate. 200 yards per game. Only 5 TD's and 3 INT's. Yay he rushed for 300 yards. Eagles still went 2-4
Campbell has had 2 games - he throws at a 61% rate. 280 yards per game. 5 TD's and 0 INT's. Browns went 1-1
Vick is a stud though. Can't deny it.

The problem with Vick is that he has the talent that should make him a starter in this league, not an upper echelon starter, but a starter still.
The main problem though is that he's way too fragile for a team to depend on him going into the season as he just gets hurt too much. And on top of that he's good enough to make sure you don't end up with one of the top picks if he plays enough games, but probably not good/healthy enough to get you to make a deep playoff run.
So therein lies the problem, what do you do with him?
I could almost see him going to be a backup to a mobile QB as that would make sense for him at this point in his career

I wonder if the Vikes can pry Peyton away from Denver? Maybe trade for Megatron while they are at it. Cowher might come out of retirement to coach. Jesus will play DE.

AP is the anything-type RB. If he was on an option team, he would dominate. If he played in a spread, he'd dominate. If he only ran sweeps and off tackle, he'd dominate. Once the ball gets into APs hands, he's the most dominant player in the NFL.

minnesota needs to just figure their #@#@#@#@ out and draft/develop one... thats how you become a successful organization mean stop bring in guys like a washed up favre/mcnabb/freeman/cassell.... whos next? Sanchez?

not like it would be a huge investment for a team. 1 or 2 years for low money. Teams need depth at the position

They havent had a successful QB since Moss left town. Coincidence? I think not.

Well, I certainly understand why the Vikings would do this. It's because the are a graveyard for old fart Quarterbacks. Look at their history.....Joe Kapp, Jim McMahon, Warren Moon, Randall Cunningham, Jeff George, Gus Frerott, Brett Favre, Donavan McNabb, Matt Cassels. It would be right up their alley to get Michael Vick, although I hope they don't.

On one hand they are probably tired of picking up other team's unwanted QBs and would want to draft a franchise QB. On the other hand AP has a lot of miles on him and they might not have time to develop a QB. Now a days though rookie QB's seem to be able to step right in. I'd go with drafting one, over going with another washed up QB who can't stay healthy.

They drafted Ponder two years ago to be their franchise QB. Hes a bust.

Personally, I think the only QBs that they will get their hands on from another team, is going to be either Mark Sanchez or Tim Tebow, and I'm not so sure about Tebow right now. Sanchez will be gone from the Jets.
