Question - I've never been really familiar with Triple Threads so forgive my ignorance...

Are white whales printing plates? And if so, why are only Triple Threads printing plates called 'white whales?' (I know what a 'white whale' is/means outside of trading cards, but why Triple Threads specifically?)
