Terry Francona did a awesome job this year but how did he win it over John Farrell? I'm not a BoSox fan so I'm not being bias. Farrell did take a last place Boston team to win the World Series. It make's no sense to me. If there was a thread about this I'm sorry for bringing back up.

They vote before the playoffs, so take the WS win out of the equation. He did finish as a finalist, so obviously his influence was recognized. But Tito won two WS titles in Boston and never got a Manager of the Year award there, either.

Thanks I didn't know that. It makes sense to me now.

Moronic post as everyone had the Red Sox finishing last in their own division.

The Sox had the best record in baseball before the playoff's started...

I'm fine with Tito, but I can see the argument for JF

Nobody had the RedSox in the playoffs off the previous year. They still had all the pieces plus Cherington did an excellent job. Francona had no one.

Farrell should've won it, but its kinda cool Francona finally did.

Two extremely deserving AL Managers for the award. You can't go wrong with what either accomplished. Hopefully Brad Ausmus will be in the 2014 conversation....

I certainly had them at or near the bottom of the East. Hard to go wrong with either manager, as they both did a great job. I feel Francona had less to work with but Farrell was in a much tougher division. I am sure Francona would trade for another World Series ring, so I am also sure that Farrell does not mind so much being he has a title as manager.

I was fine with either Tito or Farrell. I was pulling for Farrell though, both were deserving. As WCTYSON said WS Ring >>>> AL Manager of the Year

You didn't have to be an a-hole about it. You asked a question and it replied to answer it. I wasn't disrespectful to you, why the need to be a jerk?

The writers felt the Francona did more with less, how's that?

Even as a Red Sox fan, I believe that Francona deserved the award. he did a lot more with a lot less.... Farrell did an amazing thing but it was a totally different team from last year....

Cherrington should get gm of the year!!!

The Indians had less talent than the Red Sox.

You must of thought I was being sarcastic. I really didn't know and I was thanking you for letting me know. You completely took what I said completely wrong.

There are a lot of voters who simply won't vote for a big market team, regardless of how well the manager performs. There were two or three voters that didn't even have Farrell on their ballot (one didn't have Farrell or Francona -- she voted for same 3 as last year -- Melvin, Maddon, and Showalter). So not all of the voting is logical. Even though I'm a Red Sox, I couldn't care less. They won the World Series -- who cares about individual awards.

Oh good lord... I am so sorry! I guess I'm getting so used to reading sarcastic responses on here that I inferred a tone when there wasn't one.

Please accept my sincerest apologies. I completely read wrong and maligned you unfairly. I hope you can forgive me.
