How exactly does a pack war work?

It is hit against hit in each pack. Each person keeps the base and parallel non auto/jersey cards but you compare auto to auto and jersey/patch to jersey/patch.

Which ever card has the higher value wins.

Sorry, yes that is correct. It is a hit for hit or pack for pack type war. So if you were doing hit for hit(same as card for card) and you have the better card of the two, you win both cards.

In the case of Bowman Sterling there are two hits in every pack so instead of doing a full box war we did pack for pack.
