Yes it does suck!!!! :( I was very hopeful that he would have the tear repaired, and be back in 3-4 months. With the way he explodes to the rim, I know he will need more time off, but only he knows his body. Hoping after this injury, he will be injury free for the rest of his career.

I PC Derrick and will continue to do so....I don't collect cards to profit, I collect them to COLLECT....I do move some cards on occasion if unexpected bills come in, or I want to gain something new, but even if his cards dropped to half of the value, that just means I can get more at a better deal.....

Wow. Really sucks but I can't be mad at rose like a ton of bulls fan will be. Calling him names , that hes weak, etc. He has a fragile body, nothing he can do. He works really hard and I'm sure theres absolutely no one that feels worse than how he feels right now.

What a shame, i picked him ($5) to be the MVP. Like Amare, I respect his work ethic but he can't catch a break. Seems like a good hard working kid, sucks he can't stay healthy... good for the Knicks bad for the league. He hasn't been himself this year either, just hope it's not Brandon Roy all over again.

I'm not a Rose fan or collector but I don't think people should get too doomsday about his injury. To me, this isn't much different than a pitcher having Tommy John or a running back coming back from single or multiple ACL injuries (Adrian Peterson, Frank Gore).

Rose seemed to take his time with his first injury versus rushing back and with another year to rest, it should be as strong as ever.

A meniscus tear is not minor but it's also not an injury that should hold him back too much, given his age. I think must older NBA players that you hear about with knee issues had meniscus tear issues years ago that you just never heard about.

I tore my ACL twice and my meniscus over 15 years ago but still played hard and confidently for several more years. Given the advances in medicine, the access to trainers and physical therapists, etc., I just wouldn't worry about him. The guys is young and a beast.

I do think he'll have to adjust his game a bit... rely more on pulling up versus his long strides through the lane where he is susceptible to step on someone's foot. But most players have to do this a bit when they age.

If you're a collector, I get the panic because he's missed two seasons during his prime and may not regain top 5 NBA player status, but if I'm a Bulls fan, I'm still optimistic about his future.

I cannot agree more... I feel crappy because he was on my fantasy team and I turned down trade offers for him the day before his injury... I cant imagine being financially invested. :(

Maybe it's just the optimist in me, but you have to think that after the PR debacle of the last injury (saying he could come back, then it being a distraction for an entire year), the Bulls & DRose are going to swing the complete opposite way this time. They seemed to have announced the timeline minutes after he was done with the surgery.

Most likely he's still out for the year - but you never know, maybe we'll be surprised come March or April if we're still deep in the playoff hunt.

It is time to tank for this upcoming draft. Start Teague and trade Boozer. They need to be a part of the lottery this year around.

It's just a shame that Thibideau wouldn't go along with a tanking plan.

im glad my fav team isnt the bulls, i would be really sad about now, i wish he hadnt gotten hurt, he didnt even have any contact at all when it happened right, thats what i would be most scared about, i think both his injuries were non-contact, so he can be majorly hurt at any time apparently. at least this one was on the other knee, i guess thats good, maybe its better to have 1 injury on both knee than 2 on 1. im sure he will get back & be just as good as before, its just the question of whether he will get injured again essentially doing nothing. maybe he will gain another 5 inches on his vertical this time too.

It stinks. I am a Miami Heat fan and was looking forward to competing with the Bulls. The Eastern Conference is so watered down that now with DRose's injury we are left with Pacers as our only credible competitors. It really stinks.

I hope he can make it back but the media is saying he's done for the season. That's pretty unfortunate considering he hasn't been back too long in the first place. Things don't look good for Rose. I hope he can get back to form but I'm starting to think he's going to be plagued with injuries.

Such terrible news, but unfortunately I already saw this coming from the night it happened. Regardless of how well the knee is repaired, this just can't bode well for his mental game, missing virtually 2+ consecutive seasons. Not only will there be rust, but that tentative 'I can't let this happen again' voice lingering in the back of his mind when he returns.

Such a shame too...you can tell this guy genuinely loves the game and really prides himself putting his city on his back.

It's Teague time in Chicago.

0 points in 20+ minutes last night. Hoping that's just a lot of rust or nerves, but not a great start. I think it'll be Hein's job to lose, and see the Bulls picking up a veteran pg via a trade before all star break.

The Bulls will be lucky to get a 6-7 seed.

Why?

Trade Deng. EVERYONE knows you're not keeping him. I love the dude, but you're not going to shell out 12 million on him (or around there), so just trade him. Get something. Someone. Don't let him walk.

Dump Boozer after this year. For sure.

If we are thinking it's "Teague Time"...we're in trouble. That kid doesn't have it. I don't care about summer league ball. HE DOES NOT HAVE IT. The game backs it up. I've watched him. He hasn't improved much, if at all.

Dunleavy? Snell? Really? NO THANK YOU.

I just was reading an article about them maybe bringing back Ben Gordon. That's stupid.

Tank? I don't know...but if you're not making MAJOR moves to get better, you might as well make major moves to get worse.

Good luck, D Rose.

Is the a set-back? Yes, a huge set-back. Is it career ending? I don't think so.

He is not done....he was absent from the game for 18 mos and was shaking off the rust..in the game in which he was injured, he had 20 points in the first half, and kept Lillard to his lowest point half this season.....

He may not have been playing well when he left, but he didn't lose a step. His shots just weren't falling. That is all feel and touch, not ability. I wasn't worried about his start, but I AM worried about his future given the injury. I don't doubt he will come back strong, but I don't have confidence he won't get injured again.

Pretty much my thoughts in a nutshell. Time to rebuild from the ground up if you're really serious about competing with the Heat with the Rose uncertainty in coming seasons. I have no doubt they can attract some good players with the Bulls name...they certainly aren't the Bobcats.

Rose needs to address the fans and the media. Tell us all he will work his butt off to try and come back at least a month before playoffs. For missing a season and a half so far he didn't do so bad. He was starting to get his rhythm back last 2 games. Hit a game winner vs the Knicks and showed us he's still explosive. Unlike penny hill mcgrady b Roy. Rose showed us all he was still explosive post ACL surgery. So everyone relax. He should be fine , I just wish he would come out and address to media and the fans !

did those guys tear their ACL???

When exactly was McGrady and Hill's injury?

Those guys had lingering injuries throughout their career. Rose has had two very clear cut injuries making him lose entire seasons.

Rose has played in like 50 of the Bulls last 246 games.

When has a star player ever in the history of the game missed time like that over three seasons? That's an honest question. I know guys have missed bulks of seasons, but I never remember a player being THAT injured

It's not his decision, even IN the small chance he himself wants to come back ahead of schedule. The Bulls organization will not let him see another ounce of playing time for the rest of this year.

Rose still needs to man up and talk to the fans through the media, he's a quiet type of dude but damn. Don't leave us hanging. If doctors clear him to play later this season. I don't see why he wouldn't use that opportunity to get back in game shape sooner than later.
