My wife has been wanting a treadclimber for a few years now and I think this year I am finally going to get her one for Christmas. I have tried to research the different kinds, but I was wondering if anyone here had any opinions? I was looking to purchase the TC10 from Bowflex because there is a good deal going on now for $1000 off plus free shipping. I can get it delivered for $1199. Any thoughts? Thanks

Yes.....you actually have to use it.....lol
Shop models through Amazon. I always go through Amazon reviews on all my purchases, whether I buy from them or not.

Sorry, I actually wasn't trying to be a dick. My honest opinion is that you could get in shape/lose weight/get healthy, whatever your goals are while saving a ton of money.

You were right....hard to tell humor through a keyboard.....
Always best to save a grand and just watch what we eat. I have always been a small framed type of gal. When I hit 30....I swear my metabolism went into no gear. I went from a girl who could eat two Big Mac's and drink a case of beer. No weight gain. Turned 30, and all that changed. It's all just eating. Started eating 3 meals a day that were all vegetables and protein and the weight dropped off. I have always been a size 2. Bad eating habits and beer consumption packed on the pounds. Started pushing a size 16 within two years. Hired a chef that cooked and prepared my meals and in 30 days I dropped 30 pounds without ever working out. Within 5 months, I was back to a size two. I stay away from processed foods and overindulgence. Personally, for me, it's all that goes in that makes the difference in my waistline. However, I still enjoy my beer :)

No trying to be a prick but I would agree. Lazy habits get you out of shape and trying to make getting into shape easier by spending large amounts of money still has the laziness mentality. It is why people rarely use the equipment they buy.
The people most likely to use the equipment are the ones already in good shape and looking for ways to continue that lifestyle.
If you are going to buy one, buy a used one. Pretty much can guarantee it will have no use and will cost you about 30% of a new one. The people who

C'mon guys. The guy is asking for advice on a Treadclimber. If you don't have advice about which Treadclimber he should get, keep your opinions to yourself. He didn't ask about other options or health tips.
If he wanted advice on why he shouldn't get his wife a Treadclimber, then fine, but that isn't what he asked.
Sorry, OP, I don't have any advice on Treadclimbers, but maybe a Google review search would help. If Amazon stocks them, you could probably find reviews there as well.
Good luck!

No problem man.

Yeah, she works out daily for 30-40 minutes.

Thanks, I appreciate it.
To fill in some missing info.....my wife works out daily, usually with a break on the weekends. She has a history of knee problems from playing sports, so running outside doesn't work for her. The Bowflex is supposed to be less strain on the knees. She does walk and bike, but in the winter it doesn't work for us because we have a young son and it is freezing outside!! ;)
I bought the Bowflex TC10 last night because they ran a promo where I could get it for $1199 delivered. It's regularly $2599. I also looked up on ebay and used Bowflex TC10's are selling for $1200-$1500. I figure if I can get a new one for $1200 then that was a good deal. The promo ended last night at midnight so I really couldn't wait.

If your wife is a glutton for punishment and you'd ever like to expand your in-home gym, you should look in to a rowing machine too...lower impact, full-body workout that definitely doesn't feel like an infomercial workout.

I am honestly not trying to be a smartass, but we had a treadmill. "Had" is the optimum word. We gave it to my sister-in-law. She also "had" it. I'm not sure where it is now. Nobody I know who has had a treadmill continues to use it for long. It eventually becomes a dust magnet that takes up too much room in your house. If I were you, I'd look into other options for exercise. Speaking from personal experience, I feel like I am doing you a favor because one day you will be thinking to yourself "dang, why did we get that stupid ___?"
