2nd 07/08 UD Premier Basketball 10 Box Case Break!

Because of the interest in this limited product and great shot at getting some high-end autographs, I decided to also do a "group case break" of UD Premier Basketball. I wanted to wait until the other group break filled before starting this one. With 2 cases, surely someone on here will get a HUGE hit.

The group break will be set up the same way as the last one, but the slots may be $1-$3 cheaper because I will be buying more than one case. I would charge the same in order to keep everything the same, but that would mean I would make money, and I'm not going to do that. I will lock in a price with Chris tomorrow and let you guys know what the slot price will be for sure.

I just heard back from Chris!

There will be 61 slots at $46 per slot. (I bought a few cases for myself, so Chris gave me a good deal on these cases. That's the reason for the cheaper slot price) Thanks Chris!!!

There will be 60 hit slots and 1 base card slot. The base card slot will receive all 10 base cards.

Everything will be videotaped and put on YouTube. The slots will be randomly drawn using random.org.

Release Date is April 2nd, and the case will be busted the same day it arrives. Let me know who wants in.

RULES IF WE HAVE A SHORTAGE OF HITS OR EXTRA HITS:

The break will be at 8:00 PM Eastern time Friday, (April 18th), night. I will be home around 7:00, but will need to eat supper first.

We will follow "box" order. If box 3 only has 5 hits, then the 6th slot holder will wait until there's another box with an extra hit. If there is none, then money will be refunded, (and I'll take a small loss).

If there's an extra hit in any box before there's a box that's short, that hit will be held until there's a box that's short a hit, or until we can randomly give that hit to a participant.

If there's a random drawing, every slot purchased will be entered. 20 people have participated in this break, but those with more slots will have a higher chance of winning any extra cards. I'm hoping for several extra cards! The random drawing will immediately follow the group break.

I don't mind having others host. The advantage to one member doing more than one case is everything is in the same place and shipping fees therefore would be less if people purchased slots in multiple cases.

Plus, I have already locked in and ordered the cases. If we don't do another one, I will keep the extra case sealed along with the rest of my sealed cases. I think with this product being limited, and the autos it's supposed to have, you can't go wrong keeping a few sealed.

PODS is a great way to store items. We use them in different parts of the country for our business equipment. I just don't trust the cards being away from my house.

Looks like it could be reasonably priced depending on how SP Threads could be setup (if I read it right...14 hits per box, even the base slot wouldnt be all that bad - give them base and/or the addition of any parallels (#/50 and 1/1's), plus the #'d non auto/mem rookies)...ugg and to think 3 months ago I said I was backing out....

LOL just spoke to UD rep. about this product. Guy first tells me that it is still for early April. After I tell him that we heard it was delayed he goes to check and comes back to tell me "ohh yeah I guess you are right it has been delayed." Here is the kick in the balls though (like we aren't used to that from UD by now). He then tells me that he is not too sure where I got the Late April release date because they have not even made a new date yet. He apologizes for that but they just aren't too sure when the release will be now. I asked him what the hold up was and he said it was due to not having enough autographs back from players to insert into the product.

Ohh hell thats great. No release date and no autographs. Another great product set up by UD. That really makes you wonder if when they do release it if we will be shorted autos.

I have been away on vacation with my wife, (unexpectedly), and just returned last night. After trying to catch up on everything today, I will be catching up on this forum tonight, although, I'm dreading it a little because of all the posts that I probably won't care to read. :rolleyes:

Thank you for everyone's payments. I can't believe this product has been delayed a few weeks already...well, maybe I can, but I promise to break this as soon as it's received. I told my wife that we needed to be home no later than today incase the cases arrived a day or two early. Then realized it was delayed.

I'm still looking forward to this and am very optimistic this will be a great product for a group break.

I just put all the slots in order in that 2nd post as well. The first slot will be all 10 base cards. The remaining 60 slots, I put in groups of 6 to represent each box. If someone would like to see me arrange these slots in a different manner than the two I just did, please let me know. :)

If my figuring is correct, I get the 7th card in the pack with both of my slots.

Slot 30 would be the in pack 5 and slot 61 in pack 10.

Chris told me that my case should ship tomorrow, (Tuesday), but without overnight delivery, hopefully it will be here Thursday or Friday. I will update everyone once I have the tracking info.

I just think they could have done alittle more with the card itself to make it look nicer (and hope some of the jersey pcs. look a little nicer with some more seperation in color) Nice card though

I was just looking through the other premier case break and it looks like they ran into some trouble with one box getting an extra card and everyone else getting bumped down for it. I think if we were to get an extra card in one of the boxes in our break, we should take the last card in THAT pack and use it for random.org instead of bumping everyone down. Bumping people will mess up the system and there will be a lot of PO'd people (well, just 1 PO'd person probably haha). what do you guys think

see we went the route we did with my break because a lot of people were scared of there being a card shortage...not extra. So a lot of people wanted to go by the plain slot listing and not by boxes. Of course no one really disagreed with it much until it happens, but you cant win them all. It was atleast stated way before break.

fm you did it right. I'm the one that probably got the shaft sideways on it as at this point its cost me the bird auto. We agree'd (http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/group-case-breaks/6201-2007-08-ud-premier-basketball-10-box-case-break-19.html)to do the slots 1-60 because of the fear that we'd hav a box shorted and a box over, which would even out. We never got the box that was shorted, so we ended up with an extra card. had this happened early on, this would of changed the entire break, not just the last 7 slots.

I think it was done right for that particular break. No problem because it was stated that the slots governed not the box position.

The only thing I would change was during the random.org for the additional card raffle someone with 1 slot should not have the same chance as someone with 10 slots.

Each slot should be one entry.

Yeah think it was bogus the way the radomizer was done. Wish I would not have hit the sack on the earlier side because I would have suggested all 61 slots be radomized last night.

Trust me I'm grumbling (but who wouldn't...miss a huge hit at the end when the first 8 boxes leave you thinking your got a good shot at something......but it was done the way the break was spelled out, so its much more whinning!

Now as for the Bird. I certianly hope that Capt's Random.org is used, or if there was one done last night. All slots need to considered for that pull.

Okay guys, just logging in today and read these posts.

First, the break will be at 8:00 PM Eastern time Friday, (tomorrow), night. I will be home around 7:00, but will need to eat supper first.

Secondly, here's how we are going to do slot shortage/overage/combination of both...

We will follow "box" order. If box 3 only has 5 hits, then the 6th slot holder will wait until there's another box with an extra hit. If there is none, then money will be refunded, (and I'll take a small loss). ;)

If there's an extra hit in any box before there's a box that's short, that hit will be held until there's a box that's short a hit, or until we can randomly give that hit to a participant.

If there's a random drawing, every slot purchased will be entered. 20 people have participated in this break, but those with more slots will have a higher chance of winning any extra cards. I'm hoping for several extra cards! :)! The random drawing will immediately follow the group break.
