I offered a price to someone. Then they agree by saying if you send PP gift I can ship in the morning. Its not a lot lets say 20-25 range. I don't want to offend the member, but at the same time how do you explain or tell someone you don't trust that method? HMMMMMMMM little help won this would be nice...

Just tell them in order to cover both parties you will be paying as goods.

Just tell them in order to cover both parties you will be paying as goods.
This basically sums it up. Saying that it is the best way to protect both parties is a perfect reason for explaining why you would not pay using gift.

There's certain deals where I'd love paypal gift, but never ask for it, if the customer wants to send that way they'll mention it. Tell him you prefer to send goods in order to protect both parties, don't think the member will be offended that much, at least I wouldn't be.

just pay as goods but click the option that says you will pay the fees. that way the seller receives the same amount that they would have had you paid gift. this should resolve their reason for asking for gift in the first place.

I highly doubt that.

I have well over with every site 2000 positives. I just don't have the patience anymore for raising the price in the act if agreeing.

I actually Paid gift on my last 2 purchases and everything went smooth. Just got to pick and choose who you "feel" you can trust.

Exactly. If the seller insist on gift payment, they are trying to take you or they are so cheap and by taking a lot of gift payments their paypal account will be shut down. If you use the paypal service, just pay the fees. If you do not want to pay the fees, then use a different service or form for payment.

BTW You can't ask for gift on here so if they keep asking around they can be given the boot

I was curious too. I know if you try to pay gift with a credit card, they give you the option to pay the fee yourself or have them pay it but I've never seen it the other way around.
I found this the other day, may be beneficial?
The Fee Calculator - Calculates PayPal service fees and charges (http://thefeecalculator.com/)
So if he really wanted $20, you would paypal him $20.90.

Yeah they take 3% plus so much per dollar. Just add up what theyll take using the fee calculator above and send extra if you really want it. And if even then they wont let you send you know they were scamming.

Just pay goods and cover the fee. For example 10 goods gets something like .60 in fees so send $10.60 if you want the deal that is. Or just pass and move on.
Don't do what the other guy said. Paying gift and paying the fee will still not cover you.

Yep.
I've lost deals over $1.00 before because the seller either wants gift or they want me to cover the fees.
Seller wants to use Paypal than the seller pays the fees. When I make an offer - like 99% of people on this planet - I make an offer based on the understanding that it's a Paypal goods offer.
If they want to walk over $1.00 than peace out. They'll be back. People that are getting the dollars always come back if you say you're happy to walk away if they can't afford to pay their own sellers fees - since thats what they are - sellers fees.

Asking a buyer to pay the fees is like me asking the customers of my shop pay my CC fee for their purchases. It's just ridiculous.

Being cheap and asking for gift... that is like doing a trade and having the cajones to ask the trader to send you money to cover your end of shipping.

Not weird at all and just say you don't do gift payments at all.

I had a member ask to pay gift. When I quoted its against the rules to ask he flipped on me and called the deal off. Said he didn't want to deal with anyone who isn't trusting.

Red Flag #1, 2 and 3 right there.
The only time I'll ask for gift is if the buyer is asking me to PM them a redemption code. And it looks like this:
If I'm selling a Redemption for $20 dlvd, I'm expecting them to pay with goods. They are expecting me to mail them the redemption card.
If they state they just want the code, I'll sell it for $17-$18 gift. I'm not spending the $2.00 to ship it, and I'm not paying fees, so it's better for me to give them that discount. Since I'm not shipping, I'm not protected, and that's where the gift comes in. If they don't want to pay gift, no problem, they can pay $20 and have the card in hand in a couple of days.

I once had a member with extremely high 100% feedback ask me to send gift on a $500+ deal.
Just a couple of weeks later, that member was banned.
