Noticed these are fairly cheap for the case.. are they a good investment? Anyone have any luck with them? I am hoping to get some Tiger stuff then when he comes back maybe it will be worth it. :)

you will get a couple of the #1 RC's of his. You should get about 1 full master set. A bunch of Tiger Tale Sets as well. I don't know if it is really "a good investment" but it is about a break even. Although the RC's sell pretty well if you can get them graded high. Your chances of an Auto/Jersey of his is pretty slim.
I have bought 5 cases so far. I have 5 master sets and 3 base card sets. I have a ton of Tiger Tale sets but have never gotten any jersey's or autos from him.
Good luck though if you go through with the purchase.

Unless you get the Tigers graded they really don't sell for jack squat on the secondary market right now and that was true before his scandal. Anything that isn't a Tiger RC or auto in this set sells for peanuts as well.
I busted 4 boxes at $18 each and actually hit a gold auto of Chris DiMarco. Sold it for $100 dlvd. The gold autos are like one in a thousand cases and highly sought after....and it only sold for $100 lol. Tells you what the golf market looks like right now.

I bought 3 boxes of 2001 Upper Deck Golf for $20.00. I have always liked Tiger Woods and plan on keeping the boxes unopened for a couple years or so. I think the fans are willing and eager to forgive, and with time this scandal will wear off. Take Michael Vick for example. The fans were so quickly to forgive him for dog fighting. I think this may be a better investment than most blasters out there today and I plan on picking a couple more boxes up.

They made so much of this product that buying it to hold is not a wise investment. This product is kind of like 1987 Topps baseball - it would still be around after nuclear war....

They did make a ton of this stuff. Cases are still easy to find, although they are now starting to dry up in quantity. Your best bet is to buy the rack pack cases. They contain the SPA preview cards and the cases don't cost all that much more. They are a much better "investment" if you ask me.
If you're planning on busting to sell the Tiger RCs, you'll need to have them graded a gem mint 9.5 to possibly break even. If you can get them graded a Pristine 10, you're sure to at least break even, but if you can get them to grade a Pristine 10 with all 10 subgrades, then you made a wise investment decision.

So you are saying that they probably won't sell for the $150.00 price range they were a few years ago when Tiger was hot? That was in a way of what I was hoping for. Might be fun to open though at $20.00 a box I think even that is worth it.

This recent auction shows that a gem mint 9.5 Tiger RC card didn't even sell for $13.
2001 Upper Deck TIGER WOODS Rookie #1 RC BGS 9.5 GEM - eBay (item 380220076444 end time Apr-05-10 20:48:35 PDT) (http://cgi.ebay.com/2001-Upper-Deck-TIGER-WOODS-Rookie-1-RC-BGS-9-5-GEM_W0QQitemZ380220076444QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Golf_Trading_Cards?hash=item5886e1f19c)
And this Pristine 10 only sold for $177:
01 UD Tiger Woods RC BGS 10 Upper DECK # 1 Pristine RC - eBay (item 320509043149 end time Apr-05-10 18:00:32 PDT) (http://cgi.ebay.com/01-UD-Tiger-Woods-RC-BGS-10-Upper-DECK-1-Pristine-RC_W0QQitemZ320509043149QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Golf_Trading_Cards?hash=item4a9fd3e1cd)
If you open any, you need to hope for a Pristine 10 Tiger card. Selling any of them raw will not get you your money back. If you are only opening them by the box, they fall less than 1 per two boxes. Of course there are other Tiger cards, but they sell for even less unless they are memorabilia or auto pieces.
I'm hoping the prices go back up too. It's just that there is a LOT of this product with a LOT of his RC cards already on the market.

While you guys talking, woods owning or close it own Masters. I just grabbed 288 loose pack case of 2001 ud golf for $ 150 from Blowout. I heard that loose packs have MUCH better chances for autos and rc cards. I will post a break when I'll get it.
All rc will be send to Beckett. It's only 9 per card right? (45 days turnaround period I believe).

What's a "loose pack" case?
Also, I believe if you send in 100 cards or more at once to BGS for the 45-day turn-around, they're cheaper than $9 each.

2001 Upper Deck Golf 288 Pack Lot Case - $150.99 : Blowout Cards - Sports Cards and Trading Cards Wholesale Online Store (http://www.blowoutcards.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5_69&products_id=892)
It's 288 packs without boxes (12 cases which is $ 12 per case)....just check the link. Great, great value. Ebay has nice deals too like $ 100 per case but that's for 12 BOXES. Usually, cases have "fixed" hit ratio but with these packs you have more chances to hit cooler cards OR less chances to hit. It's pretty much BIG hit or BIG miss. I decided to try my luck.

Cool! I didn't know they packaged cases like this. I'd be very interested to hear how this plays out for you.
Good luck!

Auto's in this product were inserted 1:2500 packs
Wheeler is right and the best product to rip are the rack pack boxes - I think that is where these loose pack cases come from is packs that were suppose to be in rack packs but never got packaged up.
FWIW- these came out of the gate at $70 per box and were never higher - for the last couple of years they have been in the $10-$20 area per box -
SPA took a good run and made it from $40 per box to $150 and has stayed there -
You should get one shirt card in a 288 pack case - that was the ratio that they were inserted at... Good luck...

I'll take anything I can take. I want WOODS RCs. If I'll hit a shirt or an auto it's an automatic JACKPOT. Breaking stuff on Wednesday. Stay tuned. Is anyone else interested in buying the case? Seems like an incredible price.
