Anyone for some Projections?

Here's the stats (Releases next week March 18th) - since I'm a day away from Chris for shipping, should be able to do this the night if comes in, will also do my darnest to get everything out same day (given 216 slots...this could be a long shot, but I've been known to pull all nighters :). Since scans are posted for each box (would do autos and parallels) you could easily use that photo for any sale listings. If we wanted, I can also scan the reflections - would list these out by number with the box hit scans (listing who got what).

8 Hits per box 4 autos, 4 parallels so this equates to 96 autos and 96 parallels per case - case hits are as follows: 2 Dual/Triple/Quads (1 #'d to 25 or less), 2 Printing Plates, and one 1/1.

Reflective Parallels fall 1 per pack...would do these at 1 slot per box so 24 slots (base set is 200 cards so each slot should be about 10% of what would be needed for this set - perfect collation would give us 2+ full sets of these :) - maybe someone wants just these slots?

So thats 216 Slots we'd need to fill :) Pricing 8 bucks a slot shipped. Once slots are filled and paid for (will post paypal address here once is break is filled), will post slot order on post (random.org).

Here's some stats on Projections. You can also visit Projections Website here (http://www.tristarprojections.com/)

I thought people avoided Tristar products like it were the plague? Or is that just for football? If this goes through I might be down for a few slots.

Prospects Plus has been decent (1st year was great if you got in on it early).

Signa Cuts wasn't all that good. I was just curious to see everyones comments on this (either for break or discussion - wrong place for it, but helps everyone in my opinion).

I guess I'll bite if you can get it to fill up. Put me down for a 5 for now.

You guys know my stance on tri star products. Not a fan at all.

thinking this break may have hit a wall. come on guys less than $8 per slot, give it a shot, if the product sucks your out just a few bucks, and who knows you may end up with a future star. hell its better than spending 115 to get a jl higgens or yamon

a break in all honesty shouldnt fill up in 20 min....plus we're looking at 200+ slots and I dont specifically have all the rules in place (how many base slots are ideal, reflective parallel slots). At this point, I'm still very interested in feedback on it. I agree with you, end result will probably be somewhere in the 7.5 - 10 buck slot price range. I haven't checked the checklist either to see who is on the checklist, I'm presumining most of the guys that have already been included, if they're are new guys, this could easily add some value to the product (especially for sept. callups).

yea i know it will take a while to fill up, but i think it being tristar might just be scaring people away

Yep, Scared. I would love to get in on another baseball break, preferably one that isn't Upper Deck or MiLB.

Updated pricing info...8 per slot with 216 slots needed (96 being autos, 96 parallels, and 24 reflections slots (1 per box)....overall odds 44.4% for an auto'd slot :)

Finally a low-price, group case break!

There are many things I love about this product, but just to name a few:

Lowest Hobby Case Production EVER for a TriStar MiLB product! (I'm still sitting on 6 sealed cases of 2006 Tristar that has more than doubled in price! I ordered 2 cases of Projections today.)

This is loaded with autographs with 96 in this case. Some may not go for $8, but you're guaranteed to not take it in the teeth buying slots in this break!

I'll take 10 slots for now please.

Thanks Fish!

Just got this from my Sportscardnation email..just in case anyones interested.

"Lots of action building on 2008 Tri Projections Baseball, looks like the product is either short or sold out and loaded with a ton of 2008 Prospects. Could be a sleeper." As Matt said, this is the shortest print of any Tristar product to date.

Only 300 cases of 06 prospects were made right? So this would have to be even shorter than that.

Only 300 cases of 06 prospects were made right? So this would have to be even shorter than that.

Here's what I'm questioning with their statement of lowest print run...

In 2006, there were approximately 300 cases made.
- Cases were 12-box cases
- 10 packs per box
- 7 cards per pack

In 2008, there were/are ??? cases of Projections made
- Cases are 24-box cases
- 24 packs per box
- 8 cards per pack

It looks to me like they could limit their number of cases by half and still have more cards printed. Am I seeing this correctly?

I still can't wait for this product to be delivered!

In 2006 there were 252,000 cards produced. (7 cards per pack X 10 packs per box X 12 boxes per case X 300 cases)

If they make 55 cases of Projections, you would have more cards, LOL.
(8 cards per pack X 24 packs per box X 24 boxes per case X 55 cases = 253,440)

I would love it if there were only 55 cases produced. :)

Ah, good ol' Tristar. Their marketing practices make UD look like saints. You're like Target, Matt: right on the money.

YOu left Topps out (see Indiana Jones thread).

I guess these people figure no one will take time to do any high fangelled cyphering as Jethro would say.

I hate not to do more but I'll take two. This is my first group break so not sure but when is payment due?

iluvfish2
03-24-2008, 03:45 PM
Payment wouldn't be due until we could fill the slots. I didnt get near the interest in this I had hoped, so its basically dead. If your up for a FB break, still looking for people for our LCM break (http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/group-case-breaks/6682-next-football-break-lcm-hits-w-team.html)!

Price is up slightly, but slots should still be close. But unless I can get about 75% of the slots prefilled, no sence in getting ahold of Chris on this.

If anyone has broken any of this (I will when my local store does their box battle again but its a few weeks away) please post your break and post the link in here.
