I forgot to include a few cards in a package I was putting together, and printed the USPS postage before adding them. The extra cards put the package an ounce over the postage I printed.
Would it work if I just added a stamp on the package along with the PayPal label to cover the postage? Or will I have to go the route of requesting the refund on the USPS postage, and just printing another with the correct weight?
Any help appreciated, thanks.

Don't know but I'd call your local PO and ask the pros to make sure it doesn't get returned to you or worse charged to the buyer.

I have added an extra stamp before and never had an issue, but every PO seems to play be their own rules. if less than 48 hours you could also void the original label and reprint a new one(have to wait 2 weeks for a refund from USPS though)

It isn't really every PO. It is really every postal employee.
As far I understand the stamp is valid to complete a postage. Just be careful using Forever Stamps. As far I understand only 1 can be use by mail.

Agree. It takes to receive the refund, but faster and less possible to have issues with any postal employee judgment.

I ended up voiding the original label and reprinting to avoid headaches. Just that I had some stamps lying around, which I don't really use any more so I was wondering.
In any case, thanks for the replies everyone.

For future reference, it should be perfectly fine using a stamp along with the printed label to cover the additional ounce. The only troubles you might run into is if you taped over the stamp (so if you tape the label, make sure you attache the stamp after you've taped) and (absolute worst case scenario) some postal employees might be a stickler for charging you the 'window' rate since you used a stamp, as opposed to any savings you got by printing the label. So $2.07 for up to 3 oz instead of $1.69, or 38 cents different. But seeing as the additional ounce is only $0.17, if you put a regular first class stamp on you should be fine and the worst they could do is deliver it with 9 cents postage due... $0.46 stamp minus (38 cents lost discount + 17 cents additional ounce postage). I highly doubt this happens almost ever as nobody wants to fill out paper work over 9 cents.

Thanks. By the way....
2 oz is the same cost as 3 oz.
So if it doesn't bring it up past 3 oz than it is good. I hate doing this but when I've forgotten usually it went through without a problem.
Than again when things are 1 oz I usually round up to 2 oz. Same price.

just curious why you don't do this as I always do this and haven't had any issues yet...
I always put it as 3 oz...even if I know its less, figure if its the same cost, why not be safe...
