Win or loss doesn't matter. We play Dallas next week for the title. Do the eagles play guys full time or should we expect some off time for shady and desean?

I'd appreciate it if the Eagles could return the favor and help the Pack out tonight.

Are the Eagles playing for a seed or no!? I do t think they have anything to play for!

Create momentum? How about pride? How about not being losers? I just never get people's train of thought to just toss games out the window since they "don't matter".

Not sure how much seed matters, the 3rd and 4th seeds get tough draws no matter what. So yes, I think the Eagles should take it easy (easy for me to say as a Bears fan, but nevertheless).

ON ESPN IT SAYS PHILLY Wins tie break over Chicago based on best win percentage in conference games. BUT I WOULD THINK IF CHICAGO WINS TONIGHT THAT WOULD PUT THEM AHEAD OF PHILLY BASED ON BETTER SEASON RECORD

alot of people look at it as resting starters so that they are in for the most part tip top shape for the playoffs

would be nice for the bears to win this one, as long as the packers magic runs out today too.

resting starters never turns out well for the next week...see "Peyton Manning Playoff History" and pretty much every other team that rests their players in week 16 or 17.

I say they go for it and go hard. It'll be their last chance to look good before they get shoved out of the way by the Cowboys.

I understand that. But there aren't 2-3 games left, only one. Momentum at this point rules ou. Since Foles is young an learning need him out there playing in these positions. I say try and still win the game.

:eek::eek::eek: we will see man!!I heard they may flex that into the Sunday Night game.

They're not going to go easy. First off, Chip Kelly isn't going to let off the gas, ever. Players also don't dog it and take it easy when they're on the field because they're competitors and they're in prime time with a national audience. They will play hard regardless of the game's implications. There's also the momentum factor and wanting to keep a rhythm.

The only "taking it easy" they might do is keep a guy on the sidelines if he has a minor injury rather than put him back in.

Recent history's shown that it's about the hot team going into the playoffs, not necessarily the best team: the Ravens, the Giants, the Packers, etc. Not resting players, but peaking at the right time.

Nope. It's because:

A) Don't want to injure your starters. The Bears actually have something on the line in this game, so they will be playing dirty. And since people here seem to like Nick Foles so much (and the fact that he's been injured numerous times over the last two seasons), obviously it's better to take him out of harm's way.

B) If we win this game, then we are primed to play the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle (that is, if we make it that far)...I don't know anybody who actually wants to do that...

C) If we lose, we play the 49ers most likely. If we win that, we play the Panthers. That sounds like a lot easier stretch than the Saints and Seahawks in my opinion.

D) We have too many healthy players to risk injury now. If we lose a player like McCoy or Peters or DJax or something, that's really going to slow down our offense.

You haven't made the playoffs yet bub. There's a team in Dallas waiting.

Sit the starters sometime in the 3rd quarter or at the start of the 4th. Let them get some time on the field, then shut it down for Dallas.

That's an interesting idea. But honestly I don't see Chip taking his starters off. He's an offensive dude.

I do not see the Eagles resting starters. If they do I will be suprised, after last week's embarassing loss we need some momentum in the locker room to beat the Cowboys next week.

It would take much more than you have to blow MY mind. Reading all of the previous comments, it seems like a number of folks needed a reminder. For those who are in favor of momentum, wouldn't it be more of a blow to it if you lose at home while actually trying to win?

Uh, yeah this is the only answer. You all would be some terrible coaches if start playing for losses and doing the what if game for the playoffs. You play hard every week and develop a winner culture. You don't teach you team to turn it "on" and "off" week by week.
