Is Cam Newton a Decent Buy Right Now?

My friend got some money for Christmas. We are primarily baseball collectors but he is looking at Cam autos on eBay. Are his prices good nowadays? We don't know much about football collecting but we know he's good and my friend really likes him. Any help would be appreciated! Also, what's a good brand for a Cam auto, preferably lower end, under $100. So National Treasures RPAs are out. Thanks!

If you are going to buy a low end-mid end auto to add to your collection you should really just buy whatever you like. There are a lot of nice mid end cards and it really just comes down to personal preference as to what you collect.

Cam is selling pretty well right now but not crazy. I still think he's underpriced.
For around $100 I would pick up a five star auto /110. It's a high end product an it's on card.

Cam's prices maxed out his rookie season then dipped when the other popular QBs showed up. He's a polarizing figure with lots of fans and equal amount of haters, which I think contributes to some of the pricing. Prices seem to be getting a bit better, but have leveled off. I think the only way we see a major increase is if the Panthers win the Super Bowl.

I am pretty surprised they aren't higher. He and Foles both have a lot of room right now.

The market being soft this whole season has probably effected more than we think.

Well they aren't going to win the Super Bowl so once they are out and the off-season rolls around they are going to drop so I'd say no

Crazier things have happened then a potential Carolina Super Bowl run. I would pick up a Cam auto right now for sure (I might in fact try to do that myself if I come across the right card).
