Venturing back into coins/gold/silver...

This ring has an 1850 Liberty Head 1 Dollar gold coin in it.

The ring itself is 14k with 22 diamonds in it.

The pawn shop had a 699.00 price tag on it, i talked them down to 550!

Wish i had better pics.

Also grabbed an 1878 7/8 TF Morgan Dollar with "strong" designation as well...

That Morgan is gorgeous. Plus it is a PCGS which will solidify it in the market place. Just an awesome coin.

Great job, man.

What is designation ? Did you get good deals?

For a newbie: what does the strong designation mean? More value?

These started out as having 8 Tail Feathers in 1878. After a short period of time the mint corrected this and struck a 7 tail feather version over the 8 tail feathers. On several of these you can still see pieces of the 8 tail feathers at the bottom edges of the newley struck 7 tail feathers.

In short, some are very "weak" and some are "strong". The ones that display the original 8 tail feathers very well are considered "strong."

Tried to explain the best i could...lol

The ring i felt i did well considering the ring itself has an 1850 1 dollar Liberty Head.

The mintage on the coin was a meager 481,953. In the condition it sits right now is around an AU-55 (close to being an MS-60 in my opinion)

An AU-55 is around $285 and an MS-60 is about $450.

The overall price i paid for the ring was around 550. They had it priced at 699. Talked them down a bit:)

The Morgan was 170.
