He's probably fishing for a partial refund or something. I would do what you have already done - explain that you will be happy to accept a return for a full refund and sorry for the inconvenience. If he wants to leave a negative...he will. I would just comment on the feedback stating that you offered a full refund but buyer refused.

I even told him now that id pay for the shipping back to me. Waiting to hear back but seems like he is set to leave me a neg. feedback.

Report it to eBay, this is feedback extortion and the neg may not stick if you let them know what is going on.

tell him return for a full refund.. If he leaves a neg call Ebay and it shold be easily removed. If the first rep will not call back eventually you will find a rep who will see it as clear feedback extortion.
