I've got a question and I probably should have asked before I sold the first item but to keep my customer happy I sent it to them the best way I thought.

So I put 2 sets of cards together and each set fits in a box. Now my question is what is the best way to ship this? The one that just sold I wrapped it in a padded mailer and put it inside a priority mail padded flate rate and then sent it out.

Is that the right choice? or what is the best option?

That's OK,buy I hope you didn't send out the set the way I see it in the scan.

The outside packaging sounds plenty fine. I use flat rate padded mailers myself (cheaper). However, you're going to want to improve the inside so that the cards don't rattle around during shipping. There are lots of options to keep the cards in place:

decoys (best option)
other cards (if nothing else available)
crushed packing peanuts
bubble wrap
etc.

Nope, I used an old buble mailer and cut the buble wrap out of it and put it around the cards since there is a small gap. Once I did that I closed the box and Taped it TIGHT and nothing is moving inside of it. I wrapped it in a padded bubble mailer then put it inside the actual flat rate.

Of course if the customer has any problems I have another set that didn't sell and can replace anything but I did probably overkill packing everything inside and out. THe way I thought of it is.. "if i bought this how would I want it shipped."

I just wanted to open the discussion on here because I'm about to get into more of this and the first one is always the "oh i should have don this."

Thanks for the advice and information in advance :)!

The USPS padded envelope is a great product. Thanks to a buyer suggestion I began to use it for some items.

I use PKK/Ultra Pro/etc plastic boxes for the trading card sets. If the box have a gap. I use decoy card like the Upper Deck UDE card and a little piece bubble wrap. The plastic box cover with bubble wrap. Then inside shipping box.

If the card set fix inside a 100 plastic box. It fits inside the 1096L box. If the card set set is inside a 150 or deck plastic box. I use to ship a 6x4x3 box or hand made box inside the padded envelope.

In the past, I had some International buyers with combine orders. Using hand made box with a padded envelope for some cases can be better to ship. For some cases it can cost the same as International 1rst Class, but you get the speed of Priority Mail. The big problem can be the time dealing with the creation of the hand made box.
