In case you haven't heard, Cameron Maybin got the call up to the Majors and will be playing at Yankee Stadium tonight!

I am very excited to see him in the majors tonight and it makes my 2 cases of 2006 Bowman Heritage from blowout that I will be busting tonight a little more exciting!
I like Maybin and that is why I disagree with this premature call up.
Look what happened to Alex Gordon. Maybin needs more experience in the Minors. Anyway, I look forward to seeing him play his first game against the Yankees.

Wow, this is awesome!
I don't think that this call-up and the Gordon move are similar at all. Gordon was called up and expected to start. Maybin is being given a cup of coffee to see how he reacts. If he's Ken Griffey Jr, great. If he struggles, no worries, the Tigers are still deep in MLB OF talent. They don't *need* him to perform, so there's no pressure on him.
I'm just wondering if the Porcello debut is going to happen this year or what.

Rabbit, I agree. If Maybin struggles, the Tigers will definitely not leave him in the majors. However, after his performace at AA this week he deserved a shot at the big show!

I am totally shocked at this promotion. I thought it would be next year for Maybin. Hope he does well. I would hate to see his confidence hurt with a bad showing at the major league level.
