I sold some cards last saturday and on of the cards was $300. 4 of the 6 cards i sold have been paid for, and on of the two that is unpaid i have been in contact with a few times.
My question is typically how long after an auction ends would you wait to file a NPB? i have tried contacting him 5 times and the only response i've had was on wednesday, 4 days after the auctions end(and 3 days ago) "Canceling a transaction"...
what do you guys think i should do?

You can file 4 days after auction ends and 4 days later give them the strike and get fees back (8 total days now).
This is what I do now, if you can't pay in 4-8 days you should have never bid.
I would like to see Ebay change it again, 3 days file and 2 more day for strike 5 total days.

I agree with Papa for the most part. With no contact and/or poor contact unless I know a payment is being mailed, I'll file as soon as I can.
There are very few exceptions for people not being able or wiling to pay within 3 days. If you need a bigger balance, you probably shouldnt be buying (guilt at times :)

even filling a NPB doesnt hurt the buyer, its only when the case is closed does it hurt them....so no worries about filing it.

Don't feel you have to be justified, 4 days and BOOM!!!!!!! Everyone needs to do this!!
These buyers are just doing what I've always called AHOLE-LAY-A-WAY:mad:

one last question. If i file, can he just turn around and give me Negative feedback... just to be a d!ck?
i am new to ebay and the last thing i need is a neg.

If they do not pay and get the strike, you get your fees back and they can not leave feed back. Just make sure you block him from bidding on your future auctions.
Most of these AHOLE-LAY-AWAY $hits will pay minutes before the deadline for the strike.

okay i started a non payment claim on both auctions, ill keep you guys posted.
also another question. I had on buyer who i contacted a few times and he said "I always wait 7 days to make a payment when i win an auction per eBay guidelines." why would someone do this, and should i leave him a neutral feedback, or a positive and just ding him in certain areas of it?
He kinda pissed me off. haha

Inform him it is now 4 days and you can also quote me, "I no longer do AHOLE-LAY-AWAY" then block him.
Ebay has/will have a new system set up where they do all this for you, you just set the time limit. Mine is going to be set at 4 days, I don't care who died after the auction ended:devil:
You can only give buyers POS feed back nothing less!!!

Just a suggestion- Do you specify a time limit in your auction in which you want to receive payment? Could be 48 hours or 1 week, but then there would be no doubt on your part when to file a NPB.

no, i am going to start in the future from this moment forward. But i would assume that if someone purchases something they actually intend to pay for it. I guess i was wrong ::hand-face::
i am going to start writing " if you are the winning bidder on this auction you have 48 hours to make contact with me and 96 hours (4 days) to send payment. After that period has lapsed i will open a non paying bidder claim."
does that sound pretty good?

if he responds to NPB claim, then he can leave a negative and it will stay there even after you close out the claim.

I'm telling you if you put this in your auction and Ebay finds it they will end your auction.
Yes if they respond to the dispute they can leave feed back, if they don't pay Ebay WILL remove it! You have to close it before they pay, if it is closed before they pay Ebay/PayPal will not accept thier payment.

Sorry, it was in response to steelers post.
If you file a dispute and the ahole responds to it such as, (my great great aunt died 10 years ago sorry, I will send payment).
The auction stays active and he can give you feed back. If the dispute goes and you close it before he pays and you get your fees back he can not even try to pay. Key is you have to close the dispute and get your fees back BEFORE he pays!!

thanks, you have been extremely helpful.
so just wait the 4 days and then just cancel the transactions and re-list correct?
and also, is this acceptable to start putting in my auction descriptions?

Do not cancel auction! Go to your sold section, right of the auction info click more actions, dispute, bottom of that page click close dispute then check no where it asks if you have been paid. All done.
As far as you stating you will file a claim, NO ebay states this is a threat and not acceptable, but do what you want as long as Ebay does not see it!!!!!

and leave out the "threat"?

how about.
please pay within 4 days.
why type more than you have to. and it seems to me that most buyers can't comprehend more than 6 words at a time. so why confuse them further?

LOL. I TOTALLY agree Papa....but, as I've said before, people have started "dinging" me on my ratings for "Communication" if I open a case...not close it and give them a strike...just by opening it. To quote "Fat Bastard"..."It's a vicious cycle." :)

If you look at his completer auctions you will see he has purchased and received feedback for 4 $200+ items in the last 30 days.
You MAY want to wait it out unless you thing you can sell the card again for that price!

There were 70+ people watching it and it had 15 bids. I am not going to wait 3 weeks after the auction ended for payment. That is BS... If you don't have the f'n money don't bid!
I would rather re-list it and risk losing 20 bucks or so than give my card to this a-hole. There has been practically NO communication, and he expects me to give him an extra week and a half to pay? No thanks.
By the 15th (the day he claims he'll pay me) I can close this claim, re-list, sell and recieve funds. With time to spare!
