How do you know when a card is RARE !!

I see that word on cards all the time. Now i cant find a Brett Favre card that I have anywhere.

Same thing Boyd and Probstein and most of all the other sellers that list thousands of cards. They have people shill bid so it looks like it's a popular card and then some poor sap will bid and win for triple the cost of another one posted that has no bids at $.99. I see it all the time with my PC players
