I would like for you to list the team I should cheer for come next year and every year after that, and the reason why you think I should cheer for them. There are a couple teams I will not pull for, without exception:

Lions
Patriots

Any other team is fair game.

Out of the Running:
Bucs
Broncos
Jets
Bills
Panthers
Chargers
Rams
Seahawks

In the Running:
Raiders
Bengals
Vikings

Believe it or not, when I was a bit younger, I picked my team based on their logo. When the Bucs went from that lousy peach-colored pirate to what they are now, I was a fan. Then they went and won the Super Bowl, and I gave up on them (didn't want to deal with the bandwagon comments). I was a Patriots fan for the very same reason (except, gave up on them before they won a Super Bowl, and before they had Tomasina as their QB).

Oakland Raiders

I have a really hard time picking CA teams to pull for, but I do enjoy the Golden State Warriors (not more than OKC, but far less than I would a SuperSonics team), but the Raiders are a feasible option, seeing as they have Pryor and Chekwa.

don't count yesterday, but the Broncos would be a good choice

I don't care too much for John Elway, plus, it'd be too easy to be a Bronco fan, seeing as they've been good the last few years.

Go with the Jets.. they play the Patriots twice a year and you could root for them .. plus in all my years on collecting boards I've never seen many Jets collectors .. they need more

Truer words couldn't be spoken! Pirate ships rule!!

Although I'm a Giants fan I've taken a liking to the Bills the last couple years. I tend to pull for underdogs, and they may have finally found their franchise QB in EJ Manuel. Plus CJ Spiller is my favorite player in the NFL

If you want a team that's already good the Panthers should be a legit contender in the years to come, and their defense is awesome!! I still consider them underrated for the most part too!

The Jets drafted Mark Snatchez...I can't pull for a team that drafted a dude that wears a woman's hair thing to hold his hair back.

Truer words couldn't be spoken! Pirate ships rule!!

Already responded about the Bucs, Bills are too close to Canada and the Panthers are already good...I want to feel like because of my choosing them, I made them better :)!

The chargers!

My brother is a Chargers fan, and he's a d!ck, so I can't do that to myself.

jets!!!!!!!!!

See my response to Seahawks fan.

The Rams have cool helmets.
So do the Bengals.

Rams are out, as I dislike their logo completely, but the Bengals are in, because I was born in Ohio. The only drawback that may put the Bengals out is that they're lead by a ginger...I was married to a ginger that cheated on me, so I feel like Dalton would cheat on me with the Browns or something.

vikings!!!

Vikings are certainly in the running. I don't like that Minnesota is so close to Michigan, but I do love me some Adrian Peterson (terrible father and all).

I think you should root for the Chargers. They are a California team, some good talent on the team, a lot of it young, and they aren't terribly expensive to collect.

See my comment to Braswell.

The Rams!!!! We need more Rams fans. It says your from Cali and the Rams might be coming back to LA.

You definitely aren't gaining a Rams fan with this guy. See my response to hotbox. :)

Just pick the #@#@#@#@ing Seahawks like every other person in America right now

Well, that would be a natural choice, seeing as my position is based in Seattle (though I live in Visalia), I love the Mariners, and LOVED the Sonics, but I just can't jump on that bandwagon. I don't dislike the team, but don't see myself being passionate.

The top 5 reasons why you should choose the Redskins

1. Everyone loves a come back story. After falling to 3-13 this team is rising from the ashes and no one will think you are a bandwagon fan for rooting for them.

2. Tradition. Redskins fans like me are great fans who follow the team win or lose. Three more Superbowls titles then the Eagles.

3. Rivalry. You get to root against Eli Manning, Tony Romo, and Nick Foles. Sooo much fun to see the Cowboys, Eagles, and Giants lose.

4. Respect. The last time a player led the league in receptions but didn't get in the probowl was in 1997. Garcon did that this year. Alfred Morris is not considered by most fans as a top NFL running back yet in 2013 he was 4th in the league in rushing yards and in 2012 he was 2nd. Brian Orakpo and Ryan Kerrigan are not considered by most to be a top pass rushing duo, yet they were third in the league as a sack duo. These players are fun to watch and the growing shoulder chips are getting bigger.

5. Reading Comprehension. Being a Redskins fan you learn quickly how to have thick skin because your going to take heat. It's in to be a Redskins hater. As a fan you also learn how to be a better person when you read the news and learn to point of the fluff from the real stories. More off topic hate pieces written with an agenda are written about the Redskins then any other team. That's a life skill to see through the bullcrap and see what's real

^^ I would challenge that the Raiders tend to get more "hate" pieces. Even now with AD passed, people still routinely think the Raiders will draft the fastest player, overspend in Fa, etc etc.

In fact all of these could be applied to the Raiders (although 4 to a lesser extent).

BTW I love Alfred Morris and don't understand why he is routinely forgotten about the last couple years when it comes to talking about the better RB's in the league currently.

If it's between Raiders, Vikings, and Bengals, I say no to Vikings. Feels like they need it the least...I read about Vikings fans all the time.

Living in Cincy, the Bengals are a pretty fun team. So if you cheer for them you'll especially love the defense, plus Green is fantastic and Bernard should be around a while. Andy Dalton will be very frustrating though.

If I was picking a new team though I'd go Raiders. Nowhere to go but up haha, and I love lovable losers. Pryor and McGloin were sometimes fun to watch last year, and the defense isn't awful.

Personally my B team (Patriots are my 1 by birth) is the Browns. Picked them because I was sick of everyone jumping on the Patriots bandwagon around 2006-07 so I lost a little interest and was living in Northeast Ohio. For a few years I was a Browns fan first but I've since switched back haha. I still love the Browns though. I'd say whatever team you pick look for an electric guy or two who will interest you even if everything else goes to poop The Browns had Josh Cribbs who was so dominant for a period of time. The Bengals would have Green. Vikings obviously have AP. Raiders...Denarius Moore? lol.

Be like me and pick two teams. I am a Chiefs/Colts fan. Didn't like the Colts with Manning as QB, but watched the entire rebuild process over the year he was out and then cleaning house and I have to say it seems they know what they are doing. Chiefs are my local team. They used to be consistently above average, but never great. over the last five years things have been pretty bad, but we went out and got a good coach, QB, and GM and the rest has evolved very nicely. The Chiefs will once again win a wild card slot and make the playoffs this year.

You know all those pics of Denver kid fans crying? Won't happen as an Eagles fan, they lose, we're immune to it. My kids don't cry after the Eagles lose, you know why? Cause they have built up a super human immunity to it.

Everyone hates Eagles fan, so join the club and let the hate fly! People are gonna try to push teams like the Redskins, Cowboys and Giants on you, but frankly who wants to follow 2 teams with meddling owners (I'm looking at you Dan Snyder and Jerry Jones), Mediocre Quarterback (I'm looking at you RG3 and Tony Romo) or a team that is clearly on the wrong side of joining a bandwagon (I'm looking at you NY Giants)

There is 1 team in the NFC east that has a bright future at this moment, the other 3 might as well just start digging their graves now cause the bodies are turning cold as we speak

2) Tom Brady - He's a "Michigan Man"! He slays for GQ! He promotes Uggs!
3) Bill Belichick - He gives the best press conferences and truly respects all of his contemporaries (Mangini, Rex Ryan, etc).

See comment about Snatchez.

One downside to collecting the Raiders is they don't get awesome patches like the Panthers or Rams for example.

Honestly, the only downside for me and the Raiders is that their logo scares my son...he actually calls them the mean guys (he's two, pushing three).

The top 5 reasons why you should choose the Redskins

The number 1 reason I cannot and will not choose the Redskins...the team name is racial slur

Eh, just kidding, it's because of RG3. I just can't get behind the guy, or in front of him, or beside him.

Don't pick the Cowboys, it's worse for your health than eating McDonalds every day for the rest of your life.

OP, where are you from that you don't have a "home" team?

Then it's an easy answer,go with a team that has a Ohio State QB that is doing something in the NFL......oh wait:rolleyes:

Hey now, that was low...

Silver and Black!!

Still in the running. If you can convince Ariana Grande to follow me on Twitter and tell me I need to pick the Raiders, then that'll do it!

OP, where are you from that you don't have a "home" team?

Born in Ohio, moved to CA when I was a wee tike, and could never get behind ANY team from California. The fans around here are either TOO fanatic or couldn't care less until the team actually does something good.

There are a couple teams I will not pull for, without exception:

Patriots

You're from Ohio and you root for the Buckeyes?

Then you're a Browns or maybe a Bengals fan. Who did your dad/grandpa root for?

Yep, I root for the Buckeyes.

My dad was a Raider fan the first time they were in Oakland. He gave up on the NFL (and all football, mostly) after that. He is now as enamored with CFB as much as me, and can't seem to get into the NFL all that much.

I'm from Fresno, and all I see and hear is Raiders, Cowboys, and 49ers.... I'd say go with the Rams, especially since there's a slight chance they are coming back to LA....But if you like going to home games then play it safe with your central Cali location and go with Raiders, 49ers, or Chargers.... Stay west coast :)!

I can't stay west coast. Fans of CA pro teams are terrible, and their college counterparts are even worse.

Is this a real life thread?

Yes, yes it is.

Without further ado, my favorite NFL team is..........................

The Bengals!!!

What'd I win?

Your avatar is the SEATTLE Mariners, I think you should choose the SEATTLE Seahawks

The bengals....really?! Im leaving this thread......now my opinion. I would have said theres no need for a thread, just think about it. I almost never root for a home team (except for baseball) so my choice was easy.

Again, no need, just think. But your decision is yours so.....

Good decision. Maybe now we'll win a playoff game.

30-18 in the previous three seasons. Can't go wrong....

If you don't look at their playoff record the past three seasons.

One downside to collecting the Raiders is they don't get awesome patches like the Panthers or Rams for example.
say whaaaaaat?? :D

Downside?: There are a lot of phins collectors so lots of competition and inflated prices

Cowboys. You've made your decision, but I'm responding anyway. You need a secondary team.

1) The NFC East is hilariously inconsistent. Every team's fans thinks they'll win the division every year. Like Eagles fans for example. The Cowboys go 5 - 0 within the division until Week 17. The Eagles barely beat Kyle Orton by 2 points to win their playoff spot. Then immediately lose to a weakened Saints squad. But 2014 is surely locked up for them already! Giants/Redskins fans knock off 2013 as on off year. Next season? The Giants will play like it's 2011. The Redskins will play like it's 2012. Because why not?

2) Cowboys fans know our team has problems. Defensive issues, health issues, Front Office issues, staff issues. But we're patient, hopeful, and realistic. We know the yearly Week 17 deciding game will eventually go in our favor. ;)

3) Remember the Cowboys - Broncos shootout last season? That's exciting football. And it's a possibility every week with this roster.

4) It's the team everyone hates. Like rooting for the underdog, yet the underdog has 20x more fans than the Bills. Win win.

5) You'll want to be around if the Cowboys win the Super Bowl with Romo. Ultimate chance to tell every other fan around (including half the Cowboys' fans), "Hey, I guess Romo wasn't the problem. TEAMS win games. Crazy!"

6) The Cowboys are better than the Bengals. And much more entertaining, whether it's the games, the news, or the discussion.

Cowboys. :)!

Cleveland Browns....Come join the misery. On the plus side, at least we will have new uniforms next year!
