Here are Over 1,000 Text Messages That Richie Incognito and Jonathan Martin Allegedly Exchanged | The Big Lead (http://thebiglead.com/2014/02/03/here-are-over-1000-text-messages-that-richie-incognito-and-jonathan-martin-allegedly-exchanged/#sthash.0DX3EvWu.93JfFOWS.uxfs)
NSFW content. Didn't go through all of them obviously, but after the first few pages it was clear to me that unless something really bad happened that we haven't heard about, these guys were super close friends.

Yeah, I saw this earlier. It definitely took a turn in the opposite direction. It looks like they are best buddies and all the slurs and such that Incognito used were jokes amongst friends.
This looks really bad for Martin.... Wow

Exactly what I expected. Jonathan Martin is done in the league, as he should be

Martin was a big fat baby who got embarrassed as a left tackle that's why he wanted to play victim here. The next time you see Martin play will be blindside protector for Jared Lorenzen in that football league no one has ever heard of.

To 99% of the world? Of course it isn't worse.
To a Football Locker Room? It probably is.
Martin won't play in the NFL again. There isn't a team out there that can deal with his personality in their LR - they can't trust him.

Especially when he isn't an elite talent. He's a serviceable RT. Thats easily replaceable.

I got quite a enjoyment reading through the first 200 or so messages. Sad that you could see the quality of education between UM and Stanford.

Boy, must be rough being a professional athlete. I mean, you get up, go to practice for a couple hours, then go out every night to get plastered, doing drugs, hitting up coeds and prostitutes and then do it the next day. Yup these guys have it so rough.
I know not every football player or athlete is like this, but this just shows you what some of these guys are like outside of the spot light. Real winners these two.

Martin seemed like a well spoken character guy prior to the scandal. I would have never guessed him for a drug addicted sex fiend. Almost every text has him inquiring about hookers.

The best part is reading all the texts then rewatching the interview. The guy is a professional snake.

Certainly makes for interesting reading. I feel sorry for Incognito in all this. Incognito reminds me of Bill Romanowski in that he is the type of player as a fan (and I would guess a player also) that you hate if he is not on your team, but love the guy when he is on your team. I hated Romo with a passion when he was on the Broncos but as soon as he joined the Raiders he was pretty much an instant favourite of mine.

I think he was trying to fit in with the guys since that definitely seemed to be Richie's thing. Being a California/Stanford kid it didn't really seem like his kind of lifestyle but he did it anyway to fit in. You can tell by the times he wouldn't go out because he wanted to hang out with his dog, mom, etc. I think he was uncomfortable with a lot of it and it finally got to him and put him over the edge. There was still no reason to throw Richie under the bus.

I learned a few things from those messages:
1) Lineman make a ton more money than I would've thought
2) Lineman like superhero movies and grand theft auto
3) People who get paid to be big still care about their weight
4) I need to find this "royal pig" place
5) Never leave your girl alone with a lineman

It was just an out for Martin. He obviously did not want to play football anymore. Pretty sad he took down the entire locker room like that though.

Pretty obvious that Martin didn't want to partake in the stiff Incognito did, but he did too much assuming that he was a bullying. He should have just told him and been his own person.
Now that he threw him under the bus after being just as guilty of making inappropriate comments he looks like a psycho even if he does feel like he's justified.

I read every bit of it today in class....Im sorry but it seemed like they were friends, martin got butt hurt and threw incognito under the bus for no reason. I used to think Martin was in the right now I just hope he gets the crap beat out of him or a STD from all of those hookers he hooked up with

Martin is a douchebag. He didn't mind getting effed up and banging chicks but since he couldn't handle it he/his agent decides to make a media spectacle about Incognito and bullying? To save face for his career after deciding to leave the team?
If he wants to play victim, why didn't he stay home instead of partying all the time? Make the right choices in the first place Martin you dumb ninja. You're a professional athlete making large sums of money for playing a game. It's your choice to stay clean or live the partying lifestyle. Don't be a beyatch, be accountable for your life decisions.
