Ok I have a bunch of numbered base and inserts adding up so I thought I would try and sell them on comc and get a few cents for them. I have a few questions so I thought I would post them here. I am sure a few have been answered before and I did a comc search here before posting this, but a million things come up so I thought I would just post this. I might add more later as I come upon more. Thanks again for your help and I apologize if this has all been posted before. I am looking at the site and looking for answers also, but thought I would post this in case someone knows already. Thanks again!
Questions
1. Does Comc put the cards in a sleeve and top loader when they sell them and they are shipped or would I need to do that before I ship them?
2. Is it cost effective to put every card in a toploader and do you do this or not?
3. What does it cost you when you ship your boxes in? For example a single row box. I am not sure of the count, but the standard size I guess. The one that is like a foot or two long.
4. How does pricing work? Do I price the cards after they have received them or do you do that before hand in some way?
EDIT: A few more questions!
5. You are charged a .25 fee for every card you send correct?

Do not sleeve them and definitely do not top load them. In fact, they will charge you extra if you top load them. COMC will sleeve them for the buyer and offers a top loader for 45 cents. I do penny sleeve my autos to keep them from any sticking or smudging.
Top Loaders cost money, weigh more and take up more space... Do not do this
You should ship in medium or large flat flat rate boxes. 3 550ct boxes fit in a medium and 4 fit in a large. I usually stuff some packing paper around mine to keep them from moving around
Once they have received and process you will get a notification at the top of the page for the number of items needing attention and you will go thru and price them there
Hope this helps, good luck...
I really can imagine sending in my cards WITHOUT a top loader.
No wonder every card on ebay is in crap condition.
People think chipped edges and fuzzy corners are "ok"...
Maybe 90's junk I would...

Try and get your port up to the 2000-3000 card size. That is when i started to see results.

I was wondering something
If you put the cards in penny sleeve
Can you put the cards in a Team Set Bag?
And put between 2 thick pieces of Cardboard
That'll make the package ridged and protect the cards
But,it'll add a wee bit of weight to postage
Would Comc.com have a fit? if shipped this way
Otherwise, paper won't protect the Baseball Cards
The only other way i could think of
Would be wrap the Baseball Cards in Bubble Wrap

how many cards are you sending?
Premium processing doesn't charge you for sending in toploaders. I send my premiums in in toploaders, it's probably a good idea for any high end. Thick ones that don't fit in toploaders get 2-piece slider boxes and decoys if necessary. The rest get sleeves and teambags (things like chrome color refs, etc) unless they're just regular commons/inserts.
I sent just sent in 3 550 count boxes in a USPS Medium Priority flat rate box with insurance for under $20 shipping. Got there in 2 days.
Questions
1. Does Comc put the cards in a sleeve and top loader when they sell them and they are shipped or would I need to do that before I ship them?
As has been said, sleeves are fine, toploaders cost $0.05. If you have a condition sensitive $20 cars, it might be worth sending in a toploader. However you send in your cards, though, there is zero guarantee that COMC will re-pack them the same way. The removed them to scan them and then use their own supplies. Most likely what ever you send it in will get trashed and then they will re-package it in their stuff.
2. Is it cost effective to put every card in a toploader and do you do this or not?
No. For some cards it's a good idea, but for most low end stuff, no.
3. What does it cost you when you ship your boxes in? For example a single row box. I am not sure of the count, but the standard size I guess. The one that is like a foot or two long.
Like I said, $19 for 3 550 count boxes in a USPS flat rate box. Without insurance it would have been around $11. Go to your post office, get a medium flat rate box (they're free), and see for yourself. Some people send in smaller boxes in the padded flat rate envelopes. I'm a bit wary of that myself but it can work.
4. How does pricing work? Do I price the cards after they have received them or do you do that before hand in some way?
Once they get entered, they show up in your account as "needing attention." This means that they aren't priced. You can then go in to inventory manager and price them.
EDIT: A few more questions!
5. You are charged a .25 fee for every card you send correct?
Correct, unless you send it in via the Premium service. That costs $1/card.
For Basic processing, you will also be charged $0.50 extra for for basic processing if you decide to list a card for $50 or more. And as mentioned, there's the $0.05 extra for removing toploaders.

XL5. do you trust usps insurance? heard some horror stories about the claims.

Knock on wood, never had to file a claim but it seems like a no brainer on a large submission. I also think that COMC is professional on the other end so they would properly note and document any damage.
I'd be a little less trusting with a random eBay buyer on the other end, not knowing whether it is indeed the USPS's fault or a scammer. Filing a claim properly requires both parties. If the recipient won't cooperate it's probably a PITA.

on my larger submissions i use Fedex. i just feel safer with fedex and fedex insurance.
