Lets say the raw version of a card (that is less than 5 years old) sells for $40, what do you think the card should sell for given each of these (BGS) grades?
9
9.5
10

9 = 40
9.5 / 10 = So much depend on how condition sensitive the set is. Big variances.

A 10 adds a ton of value on almost anything. Probably double.

If it was a pmg 9.5 or 10 then the extra amount would be quite a lot. I don't think it means much on lower end items though.

It probably differs among collectors, for me it would not add any value to the card at all, in fact it would hurt the value because that means I have to crack the card out of the case once I received it. Unless it's a MJ rookie, or something like that, requiring some type of authentication, I would rather seek a non graded example.

I 100% agree here.

I second this. Unless it's a classic rookie (i.e. MJ rookie, Kobe, Duncan, Pierce, Lebron, etc.) they're pretty much useless. I know for my PC, which is mainly Aaron Rodgers, I won't bid anymore than what the raw version sells for. I do have graded cards, don't get me wrong, but only for premium rookie cards.

Roughly and in general: 40/80/200.

Depends on the card, but for low end, bgs 9 may even hurt value. So 35/50/80. So not really worth grading since it probably cost $10-15 to grade the card

You need to at least identify the brand.
A panini prizm bgs 9 is a price killer - less than raw.
Whereas an exquisite bgs 9 may sometimes go for even or more since it is condition sensitive product.

Exactly. A Prizm 10 doesn't command as large of a premium as well. Also, it depends on if there's an on-card or sticker auto and if it's got a jersey or patch, thicker cards are typically tougher grades.
Can be 10x or more for a 9.5 on older cards.
New cards not so much unless condition sensitive.

It really depends on the card set and player.. It can definitely add a premium though. Topps Chrome comes to mind. Go scan sales of BGS 9 and 9.5 Topps Chrome RC's of players like Lebron, etc and you'll see a difference vs. raw
