i have never really been into patch cards at all. Some interest me but not many at all. I definitely never liked jersey cards. Basically if it doesn't have an auto i'm not interested.

I hope so - way too many fakes.

I love the RPA's in products. They are the cards I usually look for. Can't wait for the Crown Royale silhouettes!

Anything not autographed or numbered 1/1 is pretty much done for in this hobby with the rare case of chrome refractors.

I hate event-worn cards. Many patches and other memorabilia cards today are associated with event-worn items. Therefore I no longer have any interested in memorabilia cards.

They were the best card to buy to get you close to the players.
Now, autographs are better.
WHat will autographs be in a few years?

Down and dirty/Game used patch cards are still great but these Rookie premier jerseys where they put on 60 jerseys so there are 60 logomen, 60 reebok/nike patches, 100s of multicolor patches have lost their luster for sure. When someone says they pulled a "SICK" patch and its a rc premier card I giggle on the inside and think poor sap.

Manufactured patches and fakes are making them harder and harder to appreciate. Only way I would buy a patch card is if it was ridiculous and I saw it pulled in like a group break or something like that.

to many fakes, they should go back to rarer insert cards and just on card autos for whatever product they make, and maybe insert a redemption into a product for a full size jersey instead of cutting it up which if I remember I think they have done before.

Patches by themselves are worthless. Even if the card says it was worn by Russell Wilson in the Super Bowl - I don't care. Any patch after 2000 lost all value. The only way they enhance a card in today's hobby is if they are paired with an auto on a rookie card. I will pay more for an auto that has even an "event worn" patch vs just a plain auto.
But it's strictly a visual thing, I don't put any value in the patch itself.

Jerseys are just design elements now. I don't mind one if it's with an auto, but I have ruled them out of my PC otherwise and typically just sell the ones I pull in lots.
Autographs will always be king and on card is the new version of "multicolor" or "prime".

They are already doing locks of hair, idk, maybe spit in a petri dish?

Game worn patches are nice. But 90% is event worn crap anymore. But I must admit that I prefer a nice 2-3 color patch with auto over a white jersey with auto any day of the week. Event worn or not it makes them look better in my opinion.

For me, I collect patches now (for the most part), in sets and ideas and meanings for instance, like laundry tags and logos.
I find that the COA on the back of cards now have become more and more generic by the companies, be it Panini, Topps, UD, or whoever, just so they'd touch base and cover all aspects and cover their butts ultimately.
I never understood the logic of these companies of breaking high end boxes and you pull jersey cards; I don't care how many windows are on that thing... It's still a jersey card.

If patch cards will start to come with some real provenance again I would dig them way more. I think I recent Panini product did that this year. They stated the game and stats that the jersey/player had.

Patch cards lost their luster a long time ago. Id personally rather have a short printed parallel.

Numbered to 25 or less definitely!

Agree with everyone. I'm done with patch only cards. And I really only like multi color or logo patches if I'm going to pay good $$ for a patch auto.
I love numbered die cut parallels and on card autos.

The only patch cards that interest me are those down and dirty book cards which are game used, other than that I only care for base chrome and parallels. Autos aren't even cool to me unless it's actual memorabilia that you display.

The only memorabilia cards that interest me are those with jerseys/relics from deceased players.
Unless you have a card that was signed before they died, or some sort of zombie plague starts to reanimate corpses for the purpose of autograph signing, it's the only piece of their history available to the consumer.

Only non auto ones for me have lost their luster. Just a patch has always been like "Just a Jersey" to me , goes into a box never to be seen again. And no way would I buy one unless I knew the person because some of those REALLY look unbelievable and yet you see bids on them.

Back in the day I won a Randy Moss jersey from an UD redemption. But even that was bunk because it was just off the rack and signed , pretty sure it couldn't even fit him tbh.

I like patch cards but hate when the cards have letters/ name plates in them when none of the letters in the card are in the last name of the player. Playbook and strata have this.

Idk, depends on the patch card. I just traded for this one today and like it

i think if a card company would list a specific game that a relic was worn/used in that would help. of course they'd have to authenticate and be transparent.
doesn't seem impossible, though I don't see Topps or Panini ever doing it.

I don't buy patch cards, no matter how "pretty", because I'd rather have a whole jersey.

That's how it USED TO BE done on certain cards.

Patches are better than sticker autos. I am a bit of a patchaholic so I like all nice patches.

The more people like autos the more redemptions there will be and the less valuable the autos will be. I wish that we could reset to the 90s when inserts were king, but it's too late.
