I see him going to the west somewhere, whether its the clippers, phoenix, warriors or spurs. He has homes in LA and New Mexico.

He still hasn't actually been bought out. It's expected to happen today but it hasn't happened yet. He may find it a little harder to find a contender that wants him than he initially thought it would be, especially with this little bit of info coming out...
"Several teams are expecting a buyout to occur and have started doing due diligence on Granger and his long problematic left knee.
Sources close to the situation in Indiana say that Granger had let up on the routine conditioning that has become an almost daily requirement to keep his knee workable and that, combined with his ending contract is what lead to his trade from the Pacers."
He has to be released and signed by a new team by Saturday in order to be eligible for post-season play.

Yah right.. He is bitter at Indiana for trading him.
I got my money on Miami.

Can't happen. Terms of the new CBA prohibit teams from signing a player that they traded for a minimum of 1 year.

I really see Phoenix, if theyre interested. His knee needs their medical staff lol

Except for the fact that Granger has been an atrocious shooter this season because he no longer has any elevation on his shot. He shot 36% from the floor this season, including 33% from behind the arc. Also, the pace that the Warriors run would leave Granger in the dust. He can't keep up anymore.

I think Granger is a guy who only cares about winning. I think he ends up in Miami for the reason that he wants to Win a title and even without him Miami is gonna win the Finals so it's time for him to hop on the bandwagon.

He's been dealing with trade rumors for 2 years and has always said that he understands it's a business. I don't think he was shocked or pissed to be traded, it was just the team he got traded to. IMO

That's what I've been trying to figure out. Maybe they thought Turner was going to end up costing them a couple valuable losses in the tanking race their in.

Evan Turner has a strangle hold on a team's cap this summer until he signs a deal. Purely financial.
lukeouh
02-25-2014, 11:49 AM
Because Granger has no upside while turner does. And then they also got rid of Allen on top of it. If they release Granger, they traded: Turner, Allen for a second round pick

I really don't understand why Granger was pissed when he got traded. He should have saw it coming and expected it. I'm pretty sure he has been on the trading block for a while now so it shouldn't have come as a surprise to him. The Pacers are playing much better without him and he wasn't preforming at the level they needed him to after his injury. I'm sure he will go to a contender though.

But they had Turner's Bird Rights which makes the cap hold irrelevant.

It's pretty simple:
1. He has been there his whole career.
2. He led them through a lot of crappy seasons with very little fan support.
3. They are expected to compete for a title.
Why wouldn't he be pissed?

Maybe the thunder? Since big baby davis signed with the clips, they have already made their choice. The thunder has been quiet so far, with the exception of the perkins injury this morning, they will either go with a veteran big man or a 3pointer.

The Heat just signed Deandre Liggins to a 10-day contract, filling their only open roster spot. As I said earlier, a team has to sign Granger by Saturday in order for him to be eligible for the playoff roster.
Naturally if the Heat really wanted to sign Granger they could just waive Liggins and eat that little chump change for the 10-day contract, but wouldn't you think they would just leave that roster spot open for Granger if that was their plan in the first place?

As of right now, there still hasn't been a buyout agreed to. Kinda odd that it is taking this long if they're actually going to do it. Evan Turner will be in uniform and playing Granger's usual minutes tonight for the Pacers, yet Granger and Philly still haven't figured out what they're doing.

I guess that one GM should resign then, because he clearly doesn't have a clue since the Spurs and Clippers have both expressed interest...according to sources

Pretty sure that was meant to read as that GM had "zero interest" because "he's done", which after watching Granger play this season isn't that far off. He was horrible for the Pacers this season.

Sources: Clippers are frontrunners to land Danny Granger (http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--clippers-are-frontrunners-to-land-danny-granger-220910360-nba.html)
Granger and the 76ers finally reached a buyout this afternoon. Once he clears waivers in 48 hours, it looks like the Clippers will most likely the team to sign him unless San Antonio sells him on the "modern-day variation of the Robert Horry role" aka the "15 minutes a game to jack up 3 pointers because you're too slow and unathletic to do anything else at this point in your career" role.
