View Full Version : Workaround for leaving feedback on eBay for NPB

We all know that eBay favors the buyers and removed the option to leave negative feedback for buyers.

Recently, eBay removed the ability to leave feedback if you open a case against a NPB, so you can't even worn other buyers.

I had a buyer not pay for 3 items recently, and noticed that even if you couldn't leave feedback through eBay.com, you were able to leave feedback on the eBay iPad app for the transactions.

I know its not the most ideal way, since you have to leave a positive feedback, but hopefully others actually read peoples feedback.

Isn't it against the rules to leave false positives? I thought you could get banned for doing that.

Ha! eBay does not care about their community, like most others that have been banned, they will follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Get banned
Step 2: Create new account
Step 3: ????
Step 4: Profit

Yeah, I've never heard of anyone who has actually gotten banned for doing so but I thought I heard someone say that you can.

I noticed that a few months ago when I was able to leave feedback (had to be positive with a negative written comment) via my smartphone.

I thought I was doing others a favor by doing so (to warn them)
However, not sure if it did anything other than pad the ebayer with more + in their + ebay feedback column. Plus, I heard some got reprimanded by ebay for doing that.

I don't know about anyone else, but I only read neutral and negatives when I check feedback.
so for all of the false-positives out there, I am sorry I am missing you :/

I've been reprimanded but it still won't stop me.

I got a buyer kicked off of eBay because I was reported for leaving false positive but they npb'd 50 percent of their auctions. So I brought it their attention because I took the fall.

I appreciate when people fore warn, I just cancelled some bum's bid that was three for three in warnings via feedback. Not a good start to an account.

ebay should make it possible to see how many unpaid items a member has, don't know why they should not do it.

Yeah I had issue with mj_us66 bidding on and winning but opened case and the feedback has my comments but they still receive positive from me. Called eBay but they are oh well. Guy has two others with same issue where comments are negative but show as positive feedback. Lazy bum didn't even respond to case. Guess lesson learned is not to open a case with eBay!

I am the same. The only positive feedback I read is the positive feedback that is left to me (and I rarely even do that). When looking to purchase from another member I only check for negative and neutral feedback.

So is there any damage done to the buyer if they don't pay. What do they have to lose because I can't figure that out.

Not-payment strikes prevent them from bidding/buying certain items (which items from which sellers, I'm not sure).

I had a user threaten me with a not as described case before I even shipped the item to bully me into cancelling it so he didn't get a strike....

Well if they have over 2 NPB they can be automatically blocked from bidding. I have them blocked from being able to bid on my stuff that is for sure.

I'm gonna have to figure out how to do that. Is that only available to high-volume sellers or all sellers?

Go to site preferences and then go to buyer requirements, you should be able to do it there.
