So I had 3 redemptions that I was forced to mail to Topps because they wouldn't work and the Topps lost them. I tried communicating with Topps but after 4 months of them not doing anything, I filed a BBB claim. Two months later, and Topps refuses to do anything and requested the claim be closed because they claimed to never get the cards. Apparently there's not one person working for Topps right now who believes it's their fault that I had 3 redemptions that wouldn't enter on their site. So at this point, I essentially am screwed out of 3 hits from 3 different boxes. Three advertised hits that Topps refuses to replace. What I feel is the only way to fix is this is to fix the redemption system. Create more transparency, and to have Topps say what the odds of getting a redemption before you even open a box. They won't do this without being forced by the courts. Anyone here familiar with the law know how to start a class action suit?

The only way that I would imagine would actually work is if everyone stopped buying topps products until they get rid of redemptions. But since that would never happen, topps will never change - why should they? You guys piss and moan about redemptions yet you buy product anyway.

people keep saying if all stop buying topps then topps will get the message

however, if all stopped buying topps, how could we get cool cards in leaf best of products?

I often find that most of the people who are the most frustrated with the Topps Redemption Process also refuse to buy Leaf stuff because it isn't licensed.

This is the perfect example of why monopolies are so terrible. It leaves consumers with no good options and does not create an incentive for the monopoly to better their product.

While I know most people would say to stop buying Topps products, I know this is unrealistic. Instead, people should stop buying redemptions. I think it is more realistic to get people on board with that idea. If people stop buying redemptions, case buyers will have to consider that when making purchasing decisions. This will have the effect of lowering case prices (it lessens case demands, increasing the supply, driving down the price... but not a lot).

I think we will see Topps doing something about the overwhelming number of redemptions in their products in a few years when the post-release market for their products is essentially dead and none of their distributors are able to move any of their products over two years old. I mean, I wouldn't buy a 3 year old case if there were a chance that 15 percent of my hits were redemptions.

Since Champans posted his thread I've been saying all along that a class action would be the way to hit Topps where it hurts and establish real precedent that would force them to change their redemption practices.

However, this is not the right case for it.

OP, did you add tracking and/or insurance to your envelope when you mailed the redemptions to Topps? If not, I'm sorry to say, you're probably out of luck. Whether Topps never received them, or did receive them and lost them, if you can't prove that the cards arrived at Topps there's almost certainly nothing the BBB or the court system can do for you.

I didn't put tracking because I didn't have the extra cash i my pocket and the post office's card readers were down. I just wanted to get something done already, since at that point I already spent a month dealing with Topps through occasional emails that they would take a week to respond to. It's ridiculous how little Topps cares for customers who they actually owe. They can give away thousands of dollars of product a week for publicity, but when they muff up individuals' cards worth less than what they give away for free each week, they do nothing.

Yea this is definitely a bad situation but if you waited over a month before sending them in you could have held off and went back to the post office another day when you had the $1 extra for the tracking. I hope they were not high dollar redemptions. Did Topps lose them? 99.5% chance they did. But that is why you send with tracking. Same with trading or selling with someone on here or on ebay. Did you maybe make copies of the front and back where you can at least try to contact them back with the codes that wouldnt work? Or if you have the codes you could try inputting them again. If you ever do have a Topps redemption again in the future you might want to wait a couple months at least before mailing it in or entering it in your account. Most of the time it takes them forever to enter the codes into the computer system. They seem to have no trouble though making sure the codes are out of the system once the redemption expires. What a shocker on Topps' part. They are a complete joke of a company

How bout if Leaf created Best Of Redemption and were buying redemptions from the secondary market to redeemed them. And if the 2 big company's didn't fulfill they would have problems cause now a company that has money will be breathing down their necks with top notch lawyers wanting their cards.
Just a thought
