Who do you collect for good, and why?

Any answer is cool, I'd love to see any responses :coffee:

I also added a random, fun poll.. Maybe it can be a cool little addition to the thread, even though it is off topic.

:)!

Manny Machado, because he'll be the next O's HOFer.

Mike Trout (but only parallels and short prints - all the other stuff is too pricey).

Because I love the way he plays and I could see my Dad comparing him to Mickey Mantle (hopefully without the injuries).

Most 1/1's of Pirates HOF'ers. I just think it would be neat to amass a collection of cards that no other person has.

Rickey Henderson, because I used to love to watch him play. I've collected his cards since I was a kid.

As for your poll, I would rather live in the part of Florida I live in now (near Disney World) than anywhere in California, but I'd rather live anywhere in California than live in Miami :)

Devin Mesoraco, because in his rookie season Alfredo Simon threw a wild pitch in the bottom of the 9th which brought in the game winning run for the Phillies. Mezzy was furious after that and I liked that. He instantly became my favorite player.

Wade Boggs because he is my all-time favorite player.

I also collect the Bill Ripken and Randy Johnson 89 Fleer error versions.

Stanton, because he's the only bright spot on the Marlins' dumpster fire roster.

Trout, because he's the best player in the game and he has very few rookie cards

Matt moore because he was the first auto I pulled when I got back in the hobby after 15 years absence. Also, Miami due to taxes

HOF Autos (decided to narrow my collection focus and thought this would be a fun quest) and George Brett (my alltime favorite player).

Zack Wheeler because I'm really impressed with how he can pitch and he's a great guy - met him once when he was in the Giants farm system when I went to CA with my uncles.

I also love the looks of the cards he has (especially 2013 Topps Update/Chrome RC).

Also, collecting him while he just begins to have his cards released is easy to keep up with everything. Starting to collect a veteran from scratch could get very hard to keep track of what you need being that they have so many cards available.

Jose Fernandez because he is the best. He is a beast pitcher. He racks up k's which I love to root for in a pitcher. He is a good person and has such respect for the game. He is also in Miami which was a big factor being a fan of them. Obviously, there are other reasons but these were just a few.

Andrew McCutchen because even though he is one of the best in the game, he never takes anything for granted. He hustles out every routine ground ball he hits unlike Miguel Cabrera, Albert Pujols, and others who jog to first on routine groundouts

True this. I love to see guys that run out every ground ball their hardest. That is what you are suppose to do. Nice PC choice.

Chipper Jones, Cal Ripken jr and any braves really

Paul Goldschmidt because he is the face of the Diamondbacks and so humble about the way he plays.

And Cali all day, I couldn't be able to handle that wet heat you get it in Miami

Ryan Broyles; he is an amazing role model, and I was able to meet him. He even sent me a pair of nike receiving gloves he used at training camp. (We're even friends on xbox):)!

Also, I know this is a baseball thread, but I had to throw that out there.

Although I love Miggy, I agree. Somehow I was lucky enough to pull a Just Minors signed mini bat from McCutchen (my luckiest pull ever)
