First Year MLB Auction Dynasty League

We have a similar league on the boards but I wanted to come up with something a bit different.
I wanted to set up an auction so everyone has a chance to own the young studs they want (Harper, Trout etc)

The league will be on ESPN and be 10 league.

Looking to have an entry fee of 15$ per team per year (paypal)
Payments will be handed out end of season like this
1st 75$
2nd 50$
Best Regular season record 25$



Thinking 35 man rosters with 7 transactions a week
The draft will of course be an auction draft and each team will start with 1000$ to fill the 35 slots
Draft at 8:30 eastern Thursday

Most everyone on here has played in a league with me and can attest for me. Please only join if your in it for the long haul as I'd like to keep this league going for as long as possible.

Dynasty Rules
35 Rounds of auction 1000$ Budget 35 Players with 3 DL spots
You can have as many minors as you want, as long as you can field a team (no empty starter positions)
5X5 Standard scoring with standard ESPN trade and free agent acquisitions with a maximum of 7 matchup acquisitions
You cannot add anyone during the season that was not eligible to be drafted (such as players in this upcoming draft) during that season.
From next year on you can keep up to 25 players. The next offseason there will be a 10 round serpentine (mlb draft) draft that will be in the format of 10th place, 9th place, etc..

I hope this clears up the keeper rules a little and if anyone has any recommendations or concerns feel free to post them!

Ill get you down buddy. Nothing really set in stone regarding keepers. Once we get closer to filling up we can throw some opinions out and see what interest everyone. As far as rules go im 100% with the majority.

Its going to be based on vote between everyone in the league. Probably either Wednesday or thursday evening (was thinking 7 eastern)

It depends on whats best for everyone. As a keeper league its very important everyone makes it to the Draft

Do you mean 7 hitting and 7 pitching or 7 total? I feel it really needs to be an even number between hitters and pitchers, so 7 and 7 works (depending on the 7) but 7 total would place more emphasis on one side or the other

Any chance the payouts can change only 25 difference between first and second seems small. Maybe like 85 40 or do away with the best record 25 and make it 100 50? I'm fine either way just thought there should be a bigger difference for 1st and 2nd

I'm fine with it as long as everyone else is.


Also I posted a little clarification of the keeper and midseason pickups (newly drafted players) for further clarification.

There are 1 or 2 that haven't joined the league yet and about 4 that haven't sent in payments, please get these in guys so we can have the draft on time.

Exactly! In a fixed format as follows
Round 1 10 9 8 7 6....
Round 2 10 9 8 7 6....
Round 10 10 9 8 7 6....

And this 10 round draft will consist of the following:
1. Players on rosters not apart of the 25 keepers
2. Players who were drafted in the MLB Draft during that years season
3. Players who were not in the database the previous season (ala Clint Frazier)
4. Players who were free agents at the end of the season (not on a roster)

Because you have your initial team. Now the teams that finished with the worst records get first choice just like in real life.

This is correct, plus more than likely with the rosters already at 25 players after keepers teams would spend their entire budget on one big international signing (such as Tanaka or Abreu last year) it just messes up the competitive balance.
