I love when I get this email, makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside:
"i emailed you last week telling you that i would pay you today for this item and now i see you opened a unpaid item claim on me even without a reply email!! what a jerk of a seller you are and i promise negative feedback will be given epically after all the items i bought from you in the past and now you do this!!!"
BTW, the buyer has NEVER purchased anything from me, and won't again.

I always love responding that if you'd of paid on time (or used the time to pay me which should of been about the time it took to send this message), this would be a mute point and you'd have your card.
But then i'd also point out the fact that they wont the card last week, and should of paid last week, not this week. If you dont have the money, dont bid. Plus in your case I think I'd have to ask what exactly they bought from you in the past as you have no record of that.

I emailed a buyer b/c he was past the payment deadline per my auction after multiple invoices sent. He responds saying" I hope you ship as fast as you demand payment" LOL
Why do buyers get pissy like this? I just don't get it, they purchase an auction that has stated guidelines. They have no right to complain.

ah..but because ebay is all about the buyer, they can. Ebay has you by the throat (COMC is great, but its not for quick turn arounds and/or hot players), and given this the buyers feel its their right to pull your chain just because the low ones can. Sad part is we all have transactions that go smoothly (buyers pays quickly, leaves good feedback)..but you never hear about those, which most of the time is 99% of the transactions.
I may take a day or two to pay depending on what I'm doing (typically if I win on Friday night since I figure most cards arent going on out Saturdays and for me I'll wait), but if I get beyond 3 days its a rarity.

You have the right to get upset if a buyer does not pay within your (Im guessing 2-3 days) after end date, but the ebay terms for all sales state the buyer has 7 days to pay. You can request payment sooner but can not get pissy if they don't pay within those terms in your description.

Folks use this new program, works great and I do not deal with late payments anymore.

Also added this to my invoice e-mal:
Thank you for your bid, here is your invoice with total due. I give feed back and ship cards within 24 hours of payments. Any questions feel free to e-mail anytime. NOTE: I am OFF line Tues-Sat 10:30 a.m. - 10:30 P.M.. Thanks again and have a happy day. Jim PS: Under Ebays new Seller " Unpaid Item Assistant" program a non-payment claim will be filed by EBAY automatically if payment is not received in four (4) days.
You get to choose how many days they have. I put the minimum 4 days, no excuse for longer than that in my mind.

I do use the automatic unpaid case setup, that's why the buyer got mad, because it was opened.

I didn't know about the automatic one, how do you set that up?

I thought this was changed to 4 for unpaid item dispute, and then 4 more once it is opened. I am pretty sure it is still not 7 days.

Correct. It is only 4 days now and it's been that way for awhile.

I didn't know that either!.....Good to know. I've been giving buyers 8 days from date of winning the auction before I even contacted them
