Definitely Tim Duncan. He is one of the two players (along with Kobe Bryant) that I have been watching since their respective rookie years and feel connected with.

The answer is obviously Damon Stoudamire.

Because I had some redemption card in 96 - I don't even remember what brand - where if Stoudamire won ROY I got prizes. It was a long shot and then he won it.

The prize probably sucked - but it was a big deal at the time - remember how big those "Predictor" cards were?

Iverson. Remember when he went off at about this point in the season? Dropped 40+ in 5 straight games, including 2 50+ point games, hit a game winner, and crossed up MJ for good measure?

Pau Gasol FTW! However, Ewing wasn't born in the USA but is considered American.

Sorry, but the finals were still on tape delay when he was playing.

Shaquille, and jordan, had basketball competing with baseball for Americas past time.

Yes.... Yes, YES! (Jim Carey voice)

I remember this class very well, even with Glen Robinson, and was such an exciting time. Even card wise... I chose Carter and Francis for the same reasons, very exciting, but also because it changed the card game with first ever numbered rookie cards, and autographed/numbered rookie cards.

Not the greatest stats ever from a ROY, but not too bad either.
28.8 PPG, 14.5 RPG, 4.1 APG
Career ended up OK too.
6 championships, 6 MVP Awards.
You should know who without seeing the name.

Agreed for all the reasons you just pointed out. I like guys who just do their job and don't make too many waves.
