Which of these players has the best shot to lead his team to a Ring next year?
Take in account upcoming free agents, draft picks, team chemistry, development, coaching, and anything else that could "actually" occur.

Easy one. Durant. No one else other than Lebron is close.

Until LeBron James loses a limb, it is LeBron James.

The one who will definitely NOT lead his team to a ring is Bryant. No team around him, and he has absolutely no willing to win. He just wants to get his fat check, and overtake MJ in the scoring list.

I voted Tony Parker, I chuckled when I seen Durant with so many votes, Even if they somehow get to the title I honestly don't think they will even get it to 6 games.

If the Rockets win it, it will be because of Harden, not Dwight.

I was stuck between Durant and Lebron. I went with Durant only because Lebron can opt out after this season.

I like how the act here is that Chicago is just flush with championships. It has been around 15 years or so since Jordan's last. The bulls have zero to show for the last fifteen years in terms of actual championship parades. I get it, the white sox won one and black hawks have two, right? The bears are a joke. I suppose what I am saying here is that Chicago would hardly be referred to as a place where championships are common place.

Actually I love it to be honest. Sports passion is always a good thing. I was just arguing the idea that championships were the norm in the chi.

THey might be of the mind that the Lakers will be either very active in free agency or very lucky with the draft.

I understand that and it is possible, but the thread says "best chance".

Free agency is one thing, but even if the Lakers get the first pick in the draft they still aren't winning a championship. No one even knows what Kobe will be like when he comes back at this stage.

I agree with both of you. I picked Tony Parker. I don't see Kobe winning #6 over the course of the two year extension regardless of who they bring in(Unless it is Lebron...which wont happen).

I myself picked Durant. Lebron was a very close second and Parker third in my mind.

There are only 10 Slots on the Poll so a few guys had to be left off....I am a Laker fan at heart so you know The Mamba was getting a slot but after that it was all based on the players talent, The Franchise, Supporting Cast, Draft, Free Agency.
Kevin Love - Talented, Poor Franchise, Poor Supporting Cast, No High Draft Pick, No Free Agency Love
Derrick Rose - Honestly, I forgot about him....lol!
James Harden - Figured Dwight offered so much on each side of the court over Hardens one sided Elite Scoring Ability
Carmelo Anthony - Dont see him leaving The Knicks anytime soon, especially to play with Rose....why not come to LA and play with his good ole buddy Kobe and keep his wife Lala happy.
Kelly Olynyk - Just barely missed the Top 10
----
Steph Curry rounding off the Top 5 is pretty awesome....I think he has it in him to will his team to a ring considering the Talent he has around him.
I picked Durant

I don't see Melo ever winning a championship, his style of play doesn't elevate his team mates play. Melo to the Bulls would be a bad mistake for the Bulls IMO.

Just to make conversation, i think that the system coach thibs has in chicago is something that Melo could definitely buy into. Bulls just really need someone to score at will for them

I do agree that the Bulls are missing a piece, I just don't think Melo is it. I do think Melo would buy into the Bulls, but I don't think the Bulls should buy into Melo.

It's Durant - once Steven Adams improves a touch, even to become a 8 and 7 and 2 blks kinda starter, it's all over. That's as long as Brooks gets fired as well cos he has no clue. Totally reactive, not proactive...

Supporting cast is not bad if they can stay healthy and we have a lottery pick so who knows where that will land.

True, Lotto could play out for them but in regards to the supporting cast...it cannot be compared to the supporting cast that the 10 players in the Poll have.

Kevin Durant-
Oklahoma city will go into the luxury tax for the first time next year. So, for the first time ever....they will also go out and try to secure a big time free agent. Caron Butler and Derrick Fisher will be gone. And there are a few guys with contract options coming up as well P Jones, Nick Collison, and Thabeet.
Here in Oklahoma City, Sam Presti has been praised for the smart decisions he's made along the way, but has also been criticized for being somewhat "cheap." By letting Harden go a few years ago, and never making any bigtime free agent moves. But 2014-2015 has already been circled on the calendar for many years, as the first time the Thunder organization will go out and spend money, since they will already be paying into the luxury tax. Im excited for sure.

Do teams spend more when they are in The Luxury as apposed to working with Cap Space?

I would say typically no. I don't have a real in depth understanding of all the details. I just know what they have been talking about here locally, in regards to the OKC market and their strategies. But however it washes out for OKC, they have put themselves in a position where they will be paying the luxury tax next year, and have a few player contract exemptions that add up to about $4.5 million, that have to be used by the 14-15 season..or they will lose it.
So basically, they are going to be paying the luxury tax no matter what...but they have positioned themselves to pick up a free Agent that could be paid in the $13-$15million/year range....yet only be taxed via luxury as if that player was only being paid $6-$8 million be taxed on the addition. So it gives them the opportunity to jump out and sign a much bigger, better free agent.....without being penalized for doing so.

Who would OKC be able to pick up in Free Agency that would put them over and not mess up what they have going?
At 13-15 Mil I feel like they should grab a few Top Tier Role Players instead of going big and getting a over achiever like Lance Stephenson or a ego like Zach Randolph.
