Just found this on eBay and have no idea what it is: Albedo 2 CGC 9 4 White Pages 1st Appearance of Usagi Yojimbo | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Albedo-2-CGC-9-4-WHITE-PAGES-1st-appearance-of-Usagi-Yojimbo-/251501779363?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=sXxaiPy9jXc0UHZVJL3LWHtQZA0%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc)

I know there are some hidden gems from the 80's-2000's, few and far between for the most part, but I buy quite a few long boxes every month with what I consider junk for the most part (and the majority is).

Obviously TMNT #1 is worth a ton, and I believe Bone #1 is worth quite a bit as well. There's the obvious ASM #300, New Mutants 98, The Deadpool Siege Variant, Batman Adventures #12, and a few others.

What is this Albedo #2, and what other random books, especially Anime, should I look out for?

That siege cover was in return for destroying 'blackest night' copies, right? Ha!

And to answer your question on rare junk:
One of the first Primer issues is the 1st Maxx.

Primer #2 is the 1st Grendel, goes for a nice chunk of change

First Usagi Yojimbo. The only thing I know him from is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It's a pretty rare and sought after book. Only 2,000 copies made so chances are you probably won't come across one in junk boxes but it is good to be aware of it just in case!

Groo the Wanderer first appeared in an issue of Badger. Not a huge $$$ book, but as a Groo fan, one I've never seen.

It's one of the big keys of the Copper Age in my opinion.

He also appeared numerous times in TMNT

Thanks for all the help guys, I browsed through the CGC link posted. Does anyone know of a database that has everything on one page? If not, maybe soon I'll make a list and put it on the store's website.

Isn't there a Venom: lethal Protector Gold Foil Variant that is worth a few hundred bucks? Also, there was some kind of recalled Venom book, which one was that?

A little mini-score, I think I have about 100-150 untouched copies of X-Men #1 Special Edition (the gray background, fold-out cover). They sell pretty well as 9.8's, so I need to check them all out. It's so much fun to see what comes into the shop every week; especially when you do Comics, Magic the Gathering, and Sportscards. In my first year I've bought Avengers #4, Hulk #181, a clean Koufax RC, a clean Pete Rose RC, and unfortunately my former store Manager didn't call me with the opportunity to buy a Beta Black Lotus for $1500 (another shop bought it and flipped it for $2300 in an hour; grrr....).

Still learning the ropes and having fun.

There is a gold foil Venom Lethal Protector variant. There is also a batch of the same book where the foil didn't print at all so it's just all black; that's the higher dollar version. Go to that second link I posted. That site has a bunch of rare and recalled books.

Hopefully you have never sold any in your store. I should take a trip out to your store and buy up all the keys you should already know about. :)

I know for a fact that an Alias #1 and an X-Men (I think #350) Variant were in my dollar boxes. I'm not too mad since I bought long boxes at less than a penny a piece, just trying to figure out what books I might be missing out on,..

I think thats the key though. Like you, i buy up long boxes in bulk so each book works out to cheap per book. As long as you are not losing out on money, or changing the price at the register, win win. Customers love you and keep coming back. But once you realize which are key issues, you'll never forget them. When i first started, i just pulled the ones out that i remember the covers on. Flipping through the cgc board, you can quickly get a visual of whats a key and whats hot or whatever.

+1 It takes a lot of work and research. There isn't a magic list, but over time you'll have a pretty good handle on what to look out for.

This comic is my holy grail. I'm a HUGE Usagi fan; he's the reason I got back into comics after a 15 year absence as my brother - who has collected the entire run - traveled out of the country and asked me to pick up Usagis for him until he got back. I did, and of course the rest is history.

No value to add, just not often that Usagi is a topic on these boards, so I figured I'd share my love.
