As someone who has bought/sold/traded millions of cards over the past 6 years or so, I've had a handful of wretched deals I had to pack up and ship. Each time I do it, I vow to never sell in bulk online again, yet I continually do.
I was reminded this morning of how horrid it can be.
A few days ago, someone hit me up online for a mass lot of a few dozen boxes of cards. We agreed to a price, and I had plans to pack them all up the next morning.
At 8am, I went down to the kitchen and pulled everything from the garage. With my music going, I started to ... stink. This was a sweat inducing effort. Each box packed seemed to make me go crazier and crazier. Finally, when all was done, I had a few packages that I could barely lift myself. But at least it was all finished. PHEW! When all was said and done, it took over 4 hours. YEESH! So much for getting any work done before lunch.
I wouldn't say this was my biggest shipment. I have sold a few comic book collections where there were thousands of them that had to be shipped. That was not fun either.
One thing I know for sure, is picking up a HUGE collection that you just bought is by far more fun than shipping out a huge collection that you just sold.
So, with all that said - tell me about your horror stories of packing. What have you had to ship, and how long did it take you?
