Hey all, just a heads up.

I won this poorly / strangely listed item (http://www.ebay.com/itm/baseball-card-robin-yount-sign-/221414163106?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=U6%252BZ7JVSsomfWcRNoCzVbk8UUgk%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc) on ebay last week. Zero feedback seller so I thought there might be issues.

I paid immediately but he didn't claim the paypal. When I inquired what was up, I got this pretty amazing response:

Dear adam-benjamin,

how getting my caRD 6.49 WHEN I GOT MIM 200 DOLLQARS IF DONT SALE FOR THAT STARTS OVER IM NOT SENDING SIGN CARD WHEN IT IS WORTH 500,00 AND IM ONLY CHARGING 200 EBAY HAD SCREW UP

glendale, 'nuff said.

heeheehee

he also probably doesn't have his paypal account setup to take payments which is why it wasn't claimed. On his side it probably shows pending. I think it has to be upgraded to business or premier or whatever they call it these days.

also lots of crayon references today

Oh man, too funny.

Make sure to send him a negative. Make sure people on E-Bay know not to deal with him.

Since when was that a $500 card?

Bob Loblaw
04-23-2014, 02:30 PM
It's not. It's a $200 card.

A bargain for sure.

I had a similar situation about 2 weeks ago with a $0.99 card and a 0 feedback seller. Sent payment via paypal but the seller never claimed it, so after a little over a week I cancelled the payment. I sent the sell asking them to cancel the transaction but have never heard anything back. I'm gonna give ebay a call tomorrow and see if they can cancel it just because I'm sick of looking at it in my cart.

It's a facsimile signature. All the regular cards from that year have them (unless you find one of the scarce and expensive blackless cards).

And he's a burger, fries, and toy shy of a Happy Meal.

Huh... and now it's re-listed, except it's in a 9-pocket page instead of PSA slabbed??? Because, 'MY MOM IS NEW TO THIS THESE CARDS ARE IN MINT CONDITION 100 % REFUND IF NOT HAPPY WITH THE CARD'

It's because he stole the picture in his original listing from this listing:

Holy hell... I've only recently joined the ebay community and only as a buyer so far, still trying to learn the finer points before jumping into the sell game and my biggest fear is coming off looking like an idiot but this guy takes the cake. He wouldn't have gotten those kind of $'s back in the junk wax day when these so-called rarities were at their all time highest.

This guy very well be mentally handicapped.

However my question would be, why hasn't the OP left him negative feedback?

Don't you think it would be nice to warn others before they bid on his ridiculous auctions?

I was dicking around with some ridiculous BIN/best offer listings and almost pulled the trigger on a ridiculously high offer as a joke. Glad I didn't but had I done so and the seller accepted, would I have been obligated to buy?

Are you serious? Yes, of course you would be obligated to buy it. Nothing worse than a NPB.

Tempted to email this guy and tell him that in order to get top dollar for his card he needs to add the word "sick" to the title. Those 2 would be a match made in heaven

I also had something similar thing happen. I purchase a Mark Appel Printing plate for $9.99 at auction. I paid Immediately and I checkd paypal a couple days later and it said pending unclaimed. I emailed the Seller to let him know he still needs to claim the money, and he responded with. " I called paypal and they said I'm not allowed to sell the card to you because I didn't have a picture" I called BS on it and then he just sent me a request to cancel the purchase.

I would attach a link but My work has blocked ebay. I'm sure you can find it in the sold listings.

As a joke?! Really? I don't find the humor in that. If it is ridiculously high...MOVE ON. If it is something you are interested in, shoot the seller a PM and see if a negotiation can be done. NPB is not a good start with such a low feedback.

He is from Glendale which probably explains it. His other auctions are quite funny. Thinking of jumping on his "Nolan Ryan.......Plus all 3 cards" for $60. Although I am a bit confused, I see three total, not one plus all three.

Yes, most definitely!

You didn't get the card because it didn't meet the price he wanted. In my book that is a negative experience. The negative warns others to stay away from him.
