Looking to pick up a printer, my last one went to crap on me. If I can get one with a scanner it would be a plus. Any recommendations?

Any scanner that comes as part of an all-in-one is going to have trouble with slabs and magnetics.

So better off to buy scanner separate? Any scanner warm fuzzy feelings, preferences?

lots of good info in this post from yesterday

I'm in the same boat. my good one crapped out, my backup wasn't compatable w/windows 7 and now I got one of those wands which is ok, but I had to buy a piece of plexiglass to put on top for scanning cards, otherwise it wouldn't scan the cards correctly. (plus the wife hates the printer we currently have)

I have a brother MFC-7340 multi function and have no issues with slabs or anything of that nature. Highly recommended entry level laser all in one.
