I remember a few posts on here from members in that area saying they had cards come up missing, or their customer receiving an empty envelope. May be the solution right there. Good post OP.

Unfortunately this will also give a more valid excuse for scammers to use when they don't send out your cards...

Not to continue to hijack this thread but I think that is no bueno. I only allowed members that posted in areas before the draft started. We need to get Lazy sworn in as a mod. I know that sounds like a completely foolish and moronic thing to imagine but it is the only avenue. Really, what is the worst thing that he could do?

This is why I request some people to use their real name in the return address instead of a company name. Jewcer uses J trading cards as his business name and usually ships under that name but he without a problem shipped under his real name when he had an expensive card of mine to ship back (great person to deal with btw). I just shipped a card out to a BO member SW Sportscards but I addressed it to SW SCs instead. Sam with CardSmithBreaks also used to ship under his business name until cards were getting stolen, he now ships under CSB. I just do what I can to not scream "baseball cards" when shipping. Glad to see someone being prosecuted for it.

I was trying to be as PC as possible, and that was as well behaved as I can be without possibly offending someone... other than maybe a telemarketer. And you are not going to get me to pull my ace out that easy! For the love of (insert whomever you believe in), I figured it would be easy to get what I was insinuating. Especially by a genius such as yourself. I am going to cry and eat a gallon of Ben and Jerry's. Then watch the notebook, and cry myself asleep. All because of you... thanks pal

Haven't seen him in 6 years. Not sure what level of stupid he is but I have a feeling he wasn't working alone.
Just checked, I'm still his friend on Facebook. Awesome.
ugh, I sent a USPS priority mail package to BGS, and they are saying they didn't get it - USPS tracking shows tracking not updated. I'm worried that there's a thief in Dallas too.

Read the complaint....looks like he didn't steal the cards himself. Someone else in the PO did and Bu bought the cards...knowing they were stolen.....and resold them for a profit. I imagine there will be another arrest soon of the guy who actually did the stealing.
Always knew there was something fishy about NY post offices.

I just got a package yesterday. Looked like it went through a shredder.
I've had 3 other damaged mail deliveries in the past 18 months or so, all 4 went through New York City (3 originated there). 2 were from Brooklyn post offices and the one yesterday was Queens I think.

Yea what a shame. Just ship safe and with tracking and request the same and you will generally be covered though.

Because I am an attorney, I actually read the Complaint against John Bu.
He was taking either single cards or sometimes entire packages mailed to and from Beckett Grading Services. These cards included a 2001 Pujols rookie, 1971 Thurman Munson All-Star rookie, 80-81 Bird/Erving Johnson, 86 Jerry Rice, 56 Mantle, 65 Mantle.
John Bu is a fellow collector. He made about $7,000 from the sales of the cards he stole.
Lessons:
1. Hand deliver your cards to Beckett. Also figure out a way to hand pick them up. Maybe someone in Texas wants to start a service?
2. Don't trust John Bu.

glad to share it. highly recommend to everyone a read of the full complaint that natbornkiller linked to as well -- no J.D. required to learn more details of what was going on. I would not be surprised if more comes out in the future, the complaint hints that "John Doe 1," the other arrested employee, is cooperating with the authorities.

may as well read like this to some people
"Expensive stuff in here - If it goes missing were paying for it so PLEASE dont steal it"
