As many of you may already be aware #TeamConnor is an initiative that is supporting one of blowout’s own “thebrokepoet” for anyone who isn’t familiar with the story it can be followed here:

I have been looking for a good cause to support via a contest and I think this is the perfect fit.

Contest Rules

- Participants must donate a minimum $5 to enter.
- You must create a standard fantasy team consisting of ( C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF)
- *** Position Eligibility is what is listed on Yahoo Fantasy***
- That can be found here: http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo....ioneligibility
- The scoring will run from Sunday June 8th to the End of the Regular Season
- The goal is to have the most HR’s, that is the only stat counted.
- Rosters must be submitted before the scoring begins and cannot be edited during the contest period.
- Scoring begins on Sunday June 8th at Noon
- Scoring ends at the end of Regular Season
- Tiebreaker: If two teams are tied in the standing the first tie breaker is:
You guess how many home runs your team will have, closest to actual total wins.
Second tie breaker is how many wins will Blue Jays finish with, closest to actual wins.
If still tied then whoever donated first wins.

Entry Fee Donation:

All entry fee donations will be via paypal directly to “iluvfish2" as Connor and "thebrokepoet don't have Paypal, "iluvfish2" will present them with one lump sum at end of contest at:

Prizes

Prizes will be distributed based on standings, the final standings will act as draft order, and the prizes will be drafted until there is none remaining! So we will have lots of winners.

A quick note of thanks to everyone. Im still trying to figure out if its best to announce a total or not. I will say we're into the three figures. Almost enough to get 2 boxes of 2013 Leaf Memories Baseball Hobby Box Baseball (http://www.blowoutcards.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=527_528&products_id=8669). Obviously goal is that the funds are heading to Conners parents but I figure it was a way to find something on the website could tie the fund rasing amounts to without officially posting the totals. I dont want anyones donation to feel undersized. Much like waiting tables back in the day. Big tips are great, but at the end of the day its all the little ones that add up.

I was thinking about how hard it would be to score all those teams and came up with an idea. We have 31 teams consisting of 52 different players by my count. I can design a program that'll let you input the 51 player's home runs and then will automatically output the 31 team scores. Would this help?

How to calculate all of our team's scores in ~ 20 minutes:
1) Open this link
Compile and Execute Java online (http://www.compileonline.com/compile_java_online.php)
2) Erase all of the code on the left (starts on line 1 and goes to line 7).
3) Paste the program code (I will post it immediately after this post) in that space. It should go up to line 181.
4) Open this link in a new tab/window. It is a list of players and their home run totals since the day our contest began, sorted from most hr to least hr.

5) This is the annoying part. In the top of the code (lines 6-56) it says "int playersname=99;"
The players are identified by their first initial and last name (Mike Trout would be mtrout). To avoid confusion, melky cabrera and miguel cabrera are identified by their full names. You will need to change the 99 after each player to the number of home runs they have. It is a bit time consuming/frustrating to find all the players on the stats website, so if you can't find a player, filter it by team where it says "plays for".
6)Click "Compile & Execute" above the code. You did it! :D You should see the list of the team totals sorted from best to worst.

I know it may seem intimidating but it's not as complicated as it looks. I think it would be cool if we could get some of the participants to take turns doing it maybe once a week or so. If we can get 5 members and we update once a week, we'll each have to do it about 3 times over the span of the season.

Pretty sure it was a Danny Espinosa typo, not positive which number is correct but since you're the only player that has him it would make sense. When the season is over we'll get it done by a few different members to make sure there's no typos for the final standings.
