Mike Trout Card Values

Why have they simmered down? Since he's not hitting .350 nobody wants him anymore, or does everyone who wanted a Trout auto already have one?

I just pulled one of his bowman platinum RC autos (ugh, platinum) but the values aren't very high. Will they go back up or have I missed the chance of selling for a good profit?

I don't think this is a Trout-specific problem. Same as with any player, they sell well when he's hot and they simmer down when he's not.

He's simmered down because a player with that many autos in existence cannot possibly rise forever. Every player eventually will start to drop and everyone goes after the new name on the block. Trout will always be high, just maybe not $850+ for a chrome auto. During his first monster year his chrome autos were selling for 500.00 constantly. They saw a huge rise this preseason as everyone flooded eBay for chrome autos in February and March like they always do.

You say values aren't high, what do you mean by that? You mean they aren't the artificially blown up prices that they were around spring training?

When the first Bowman product of a new year comes out, other chrome autos always see a drop as people want to buy the new autos. This is also platinum, the non chrome autos are usually the first to drop. Platinum isn't the best set for holding value.

JoFer's haven't dropped and he's out all year. So that doesn't make a whole lot of sense since they are both probably in the same player categories as far as stardom goes.

Well it's a 2010 Plat auto...Those never really sold good anyway, so I'm more-so wondering if I should hold it just to have a Trout auto, or when he heats back up, will it go to $300+ again.

I never knew the 2010 Platinum autos went to 300+ a piece that's crazy! If you can get 180-200 I would sell. Angels would have to make the playoffs and Trout would have to be a monster to get back up there. I mean Trout has done it all, there's not much else that will Wow anyone, unless he does it in the playoffs. You even said "ugh" after you said platinum so my guess is that if you want a Trout auto, that's not the one you want to have.

Well, just for my own happiness, if I have auto's, I like autos that are on vertical cards, not horizontal. The plat is horizontal lol. but it is a trout auto...and it is clean so I mean there is that, but I'm really just a Nats/O's guy...I mean I like trout, just like stanton, jofer, kershaw, etc, but if I try to get autos of all them, I'm broke lol.

I don't know what Fernandez cards you're looking at but Fernandez chrome autos were $100-$120 just 2 weeks ago....the last 2 sold for $66 and $70

Also No, Trout is on another stratosphere as far as stardom goes.

Jofer prices have dropped a lot (30 dollars being a lot), plus trout and Jofer are in two way different boats ones "slumping" one is out for the year.

I can admit I don't follow a ton of Baseball...

But I know I bought a Trout Chrome 9.5/10 right before spring training for $625 - and within literally 3 weeks it was a $1,500 card (before dropping a bit)

There is just no way to sustain that type of increase when it isn't based on actual production. His production is of course good - not sure it's a 2X increase good.

Even $625 at the time seemed a bit pricey on a card that doesn't seem too hard to find (when it isn't in a PC)

month ago they were selling for $135-$150, this week if u check completed listings have gone as high as $215... So i would say now is a good time to sell... I dont see them going much above $200ish... but thats just me...
