Scouts at the Bradenton and a Fort Myers game said the Twins may shut him down for the year just so he is completely healthy for 2015.

Wow, that is some bad news. Wrists seldom heal 100%. I hope for him he heals of course. It is his wrist right?

Took my last major wrist injury 2 years to fully heal. Of course I didn't have any professional trainers.....just alot of Michelob Ultra.

Shut him down as oppose to playing with a hurt wrist and putting up terrible numbers.
When Cuddyer was with us and hurt his wrist he came back and had a terrible year. Even the following year was way below his average season.

I'm thinking he might yet set the all-time record: most money paid for a baseball card of a player who never plays in MLB.

Not necessarily. A season ending injury is a huge setback and you never know if he will fully recover when he returns and he is only in high A ball. Anything can happen that could keep him from making it to the majors. There have been a few #1 overall prospects that never made it.
