So I bought some cards from COMC one of which I really needed for a fantasy football draft and I picked out a card with proper sale value and requested speeded up shipping so I could have it in time
Then today I get a package from COMC and guess what the card I needed wasn't in there I got a print out instead saying sorry but the card you requested is in another country right now and it should ship within 3 weeks
Great now I'm screwed because they didn't bother to mention before I bought the card it was in a different country and would take a month to get to me so now I have the pleasure of not being able to provide said card before the draft which means I may end up getting my first negative on here, and yes I know shame on me for believing they would be reliable enough to properly inform their customers of items, gues I gotta treat them eBay now and expect to not receive items in a timely manner
I sure wish they woulda been up grit about it cause now I have to wait to get this card and it's a card I would have never ever bought if I had known there was a month long delay in getting it, they just took my extra money for expedited shipping and ran away with it
Edit: got tired of waiting on them to reply via email so I called, while the lady was very polite I heard 2 different stories with this first they said they drive across the border to get cards from the Canadian warehouse so they don't have to go thru customs then I was told the card is already in the mail so I will have to wait the 2 to 3 weeks for customs to clear it, they won't allow a refund on it until I receive and ship it back so yay more out of pocket expenses because of them not properly informing the customer that an item can't possibly be received in a timely manner but hey I guess the refund of 25 cents in shipping they offered means I should forget all about them screwing me over, thanks COMC you're the best(and yes that's purely sarcastic in case moe sees this and couldn't read between the lines)

While i understand it sucks, and i do wonder why you were not notified the card was in canada and would take awhile, did you atleast contact them first as their letter says to do? I am sure an email/cs call and they would work on making this right for you.

Surely whoever is running the draft would not neg you since you do have the letter, that indicates the card. If they do I think it is pretty childish of them.

I hope that too but I couldn't complain if they did, I of course really want to be in the league I joined and certainly hope to remain in it

about one in 100 is like that. I always get that letter with large orders. They should put some "symbol", they do it for everything else. rc,rcy ,yada yada.
comc needs a "CANADA" symbol.

Yeah this was an order of this card and 2 others one which was a card for my son just to empty the last few dollars in my store credit and one that was a PC Card that's been in my inventory for a while, just like with eBay if I had any clue at all the card wasn't in country I would never have gone anywhere near buying it seeing as how it was needed in a timely manner

I suggest a Maple Leaf...Don't despair though...I had a big order with about 10 cards from Canada and I got them about 2 days later.

i got mine weeks later. I think comc does a bulk shipment every week or two between canada and usa, you just got lucky on the timing.
i am talking weeks later, like forgetting about the card already time frame.

Seems like there should be a designation for this - hopefully they can come up with something as this would be annoying.

There probably hasn't been one because it would prejudice some buyers against Canadian sellers, who would then be forced to lower their prices significantly below Seattle based items to compete against buyer impatience.
OP, if I was in your fantasy league, I wouldn't neg you if you've put forth your best effort (which it seems you have, so far). I looked at the thread and some people have posted pics of items in a dark room (Bryan Quick booklet). Can't you take the bright scans off COMC's site and link them in the thread, and explain the situation?

It may create that problem for sellers, but it also creates problems for buyers who are buying cards to have them shipped right away (like the OP). I can think of a couple of scenarios where not getting a card you paid priority shipment on would cause problems. It's not a huge issue, but can be frustrating if you're in a position of needing a card promptly.

2 weeks is far too long I needed the card quick that's why I paid for faster shipping now from all out appearances I'm more than likely gonna have to drop out of the league and end up being stuck with the card, if they had been honest up front and had it marked that shipping would take a long time I wouldn't be in this mess as I would never have bought it since I needed it quickly, I mean seriously how do you as a business allow someone to pay extra for quicker shipping when you know you absolutely cannot provide that with the item

I hear you. Why don't you scan the letter to the commish of your league?

The commish of the league is aware and I have to drop out of the league if I can't come up with something, and after COMC reply to the situation I'm completely screwed

Sounds like a league you are better off not being in. Pretty pathetic the letter makes it clear the card is coming.

I understand the commishs desire to have the cards in hand prior to the draft especially since my feedback is lower in case someone has a bad draft and decides they don't wanna send so I don't blame him in the least bit

how does this fly with amazon? losing the amazon connection because of canadian delays might be a bigger problem.

Any Canadian sellers know if COMC allows you to sell on Amazon?
