Prizm Refractor Questions

I have recently begun to look at basketball products and I like the look of Prizm Base Rookie Refractors however I find them quite hard to locate on ebay as it is sometimes hard to distinguish them from the non-refractors. So my first question is if refractors have any visible differences (besides the refraction of course, which can sometimes be hard to see on photos) than base to locate them more easily. My last question is what are the rarity of these cards and then also what are their approximate value (as a range an hot rookie card like Anthony Davis or Kyrie Irving vs a non-factor/bust like Jan Vesley for example).

There is no discernible visual different other than the shine. The back of the card may be marked Prizm but I don't remember.

In terms of Scarcity, I am not sure it was ever confirmed by Panini. As with anything, items get put away in collections as time passes which reduces the availability of these cards. In theory, a slight increase in price is to be expected. In terms of prices for Kyrie, AD, Lillard....I would think all three could be had in the $100-150 each range or so. I have nothing to back that up but you can do the research on it. In terms of the Scott Machado's of the world, I would think the value is next to nothing on these types of guys. Those guys could be had in a 10 cent box at a card show since the number of these cards far exceeds the amount of collectors that would want to own one.

I remember I sold a raw lillard prizm rc refractor for $190 a month or two after release. They can be had for under $100 now.

Yeah. I sold a Lillard for $170-ish on ebay. They sold at a great premium when the product dropped.

Probably because those were his best card at the time since he had no autos.

Those Prizm Would Say Prizm At the back of the card on Select.
Except 12-13 Panini Prizm. Collectors input made Panini Write a Prizm at the back of the card if its a Prizm Card, after the 12-13 Panini Prizm was Release.
I remember someone here Figured out How many Prizm Refractror was there per Player.

THis would be speculation. There are too many unknown variables. Only the golds were numbered and the amount per box were solely approximate.

If x and y are the only factors and both are unknown, z would be speculation.

Yes. Could be.
The variables were based on the number of base cards including rc.
And number of speculated Cases release divided by the number of avg. Prizm per Box.
