A patch of that caliber for one would be lower serial numbered and would be worth more than that. Looks fake to me.

Wow, who spends that kind of money on a sports cards and would be that clueless. I highly doubt the non prime versions would have patches, particularly patches that nice. How does a seller with that much feedback miss this?

its probably a consignment but yea someone who sells so many cards should know that its fake and not list it on his account.

If it is $0.99 auction, then I can understand not bother to do any research. However, for Best Offer, this has to be a known fact that the seller has to put up "some number" in order to make the listing. That number is research.

And this is why custom card shouldn't make into other people's hands other than the original creator. People just don't get this concept. There are people will do anything for extra 5 bucks profit.

Exactly, "custom cards" doesn't help the hobby at all.
Someone will list this card in 2 years and get like $1000 for it.

I think panini needs to take legal action and stop people from making "custom panini cards"
I mean what if people started adding "Custom" inscriptions to autographs.

exactly, ive never understood the people that "stick up" for people that make these kinds of cards by saying, "but they say its a custom card in the auction and title". eventually, it will end up in an auction just like the one in the op.

And I remember this like people think "It is ok to do it as long as you put custom in the title". And it is NOT the owner fault for making this into the hobby.

I don't agree with them. But legally, if someone is legally purchasing said named product and making changes and then re-selling it they are not breaking any laws. They are not creating a new panini product, just altering and selling. Can Chevy take legal action against someone who alters a car and the sells it as a custom?
Sets a bad precedent.

The back of these cards contain statements on Panini's behalf guaranteeing the legitimacy of the included fabric. As far as i'm aware, the custom creator has not taken a black marker to that statement. A custom creator can claim innocence all they want, but at best their original actions of modifying and re-selling the card is just turning a blind eye to the aiding of future fraud that the new buyer may commit.

Chevy would void the warrant if you alter the car to certain extend. The COA on the card is not removed from the original owner. Meaning, the COA is misleading.

Yes they would, but the individual who supposedly creates them is telling individuals they are custom so he is not misleading them. The person selling them as real is the person doing the misleading.

The time you sell it without crossing out the COA is misleading.
"Custom" card shouldn't be rolled into market because it can go to the wrong hand. I don't understand why you don't understand it.
And many laws are written to protect consumer for buying car. Let me know there is a specific law that is written for "Sports cards". So, it relies on the community to keep up the hobby.

1. I never stated they should be made or put on the market, so I am not having a hard time understanding anything.
2. I don't like custom cards, don't purchase them nor do I condone their being made in any fashion.
If you read my original statements I merely stated I don't' believe it is something that the courts should spend their time going after.
And I agree they are dangerous for the hobby.

Depend how you want to file the case. One can say the buyer pays more money to believe the card as the patch is real because the seller has high rating. And the case can be filed if the seller failed to disclose the information (bought it before as "custom") and refuse to do refund.
Again, this hobby is not car. I just don't understand why people continue bring up car as an example. Not even close.

This was a pretty obvious one but a lot of manipulated patch are done that no one would know if it's real or fake unless someone finds a before and after picture on worthpoint.
