Upper Deck is ready for another exciting season of collegiate-themed basketball card products and they will kick things off in November with the release of 2014-15 Upper Deck Lettermen.
Boasting an average of two autographs per box, at least one of the signatures pulled will be a highly-coveted Lettermen Auto featuring either an up-and-coming rookie such as Doug McDermott or Shabazz Napier or an established veteran from a lineup boasting such legends as Michael Jordan or LeBron James.
Let’s learn more about this highly-anticipated product after the jump.

Memorabilia cards will be seeded once or twice per box and Upper Deck managed to put together an assortment that will appeal to collectors. Home Court Stars (1:15 packs) lead off the parade and will be joined by Monumental Logo Patches (numbered to 50 or less), Championship Banners (numbered to 125 or less) and Retired Numbers (numbered to 99 or less) cards that feature specially-created patches for this product.
There will also be tough-to-find autograph parallels for the Home Court Stars and Retired Numbers set.
The best set itself is small, but it will be packed with star power as there are 50 veteran cards and 30 Premier Rookies numbered to 999 copies each. There will also be a strong assortment of parallel cards dropping six times per box and they will be limited to 499 or less.

because upper deck creates their own letters and other material cards, the buyer is supposed to pay more because of that fact? that always galls me. upper deck products now are just vessels to distribute lebron & jordan autos in a way that makes you pay more for them. i wouldnt pay a thing for any u.d. product especially this season when panini will have tons of products and the nba license.

Don't even understand the point of this product. And I don't even understand why anyone with the right mind would open this crap. The same fake lettermen has been used since like 2008.
And why bother to make a new product for 14-15 when you can only get 2 rookies which are not even the biggest ones?
This is epic fail.

I can't blame UD for making these products..... However the guys busting these products........ I'm a "UD guy" but I must admit, Panini is killing it with their higher end products. Don't understand why anyone would bust a case of exquisite for example when they could bust a couple boxes of NT or something.

It is a shame Upper Deck is resigned to putting out college cards. I wish they were back in the professional game.
Couldn't UD try like a buy-back themed product?
Or they should go balls hard on these NCAA products. They could actually be decent since the NCAA has a huge following. If they could secure some game-worn material and make the product actually look decent, they could have a chance at the basketball market.
Instead, like others have mentioned, this is just a half-a$$ed way to unload their MJ and Lebron autos

Am I the only one who kinda doesn't like UD? Other than Exquisite, almost every one of their basketball products are awful and ugly as hell, but people don't care because that's the only place they can get their Jordan and LeBron fixes at.

UD is either expensive as all get out or cheap junk and usually the same thing year after year. The only kind of variety you get out of their stuff is a shortage of hits.
"This box was supposed to have three hits and I only got two. Wow, how original."

I really wish upper deck would stop putting out cards of lebron and co. that say 'rookie' on them in any form. I guess if Panini can put out rookie card after the season who says a Lebron rookie can't come out ten years later.

if this is going to be 14-15 upper deck letterman, what 14-15 SPA supposed to look like then??

The whole manufactured patch thing is pretty bad. Not sure why people bother sinking their money into them. But to each their own i guess. I wish UD would do more with their NCAA licence. They have a chance to do some really cool sets - highlight some under represented college stars and moments - but just keep pumping out the same guys in the same sets over and over.

Here's a thought. Have UD use their college exclusive to make a Bowman style prospect set of collegiate athletes and maybe overseas talent.

Just invest in buybacks

Thats kinda where i was going. How about a march madness set featuring the past years teams and players. Or an NCAA all-star/slam dunk/3 point shoot out set.

Companies sometimes use the "wrong" signature on previews so I wouldn't be shocked to see it different on live one

It's a generic Lebron auto created in Photoshop. The real thing will be a redemption. :-)
More tired manufactured fake letterman patches. Lebrons been in the league over a decade, but rookie is featured on this. Unless that's a legit st Vincent jersey, it's a tired lame gimmick.

UD lost its touch since they lost their license, however, with last weeks release of exquisite Golf and sp authentic golf, RORY MCILROY rookies are on fire now! and will probably go down as the best upper deck investment post losing licenses!

this is by far the worst 'preview' thread that I have seen on blowout. 2 images? who cares about the jibberjabber. want to impress us? show some chase cards, not this manufactured garbage

What the point of a letterman if its not game used? Litterally just a random piece of cloth

Oh my.... UD how deep will you sink your ship.
Panini destroyed UD by taking away the licence.
Can somebody find out what Kind of contract LBJ does have with UD.
Will we ever see LBJ on a NBA Certified card???
How about a Kyrie, Love, Lebron triple auto

Yea this sucks, but it is a good sign that UD is signing guys. It just makes it more and more likely they can eventually share the license or work out a deal. Panini will want McBuckets!
